July 5, 201114 yr Bloody hell at Beverley Knight. Obviously I expect a heavy drop by the end of the week but #6 is so much higher than I expected. Impressed. This is great news and Beverley thoroughly deserves it the album is great.I hope she continues with her promotion and can hold onto 6 or higher if poss.If you have not downloaded and enjoy UK soul this is the album for you.
July 5, 201114 yr MW report added. Fresh on 62k. Beyonce 3.6k ahead of Adele. So, Fresh sold in two days more than Derulo at #1 in seven days last week... I think he will sell around 120-140k this week, and I don't think he'll beat Bruno Mars as the highest sales for #1 this year.
July 5, 201114 yr MW report added. Fresh on 62k. I didn't expect that many - may be close to 150k for the week, then! This is great news and Beverley thoroughly deserves it the album is great.I hope she continues with her promotion and can hold onto 6 or higher if poss.If you have not downloaded and enjoy UK soul this is the album for you. Rather than Adele's, you mean? :)
July 5, 201114 yr I didn't expect that many - may be close to 150k for the week, then! Rather than Adele's, you mean? :) Just as you hate rap and any rap features-I like my Soul authentic and not Soul-lite as well you know :P .Shocked at DJ Fresh did not see that coming but a big fan so pleased.
July 5, 201114 yr What on EARTH is going on with Bev Knight there? Is Aaron now thousands of pounds worth in debt and laden with unwanted stock?
July 5, 201114 yr Bloody hell at Beverley Knight. Obviously I expect a heavy drop by the end of the week but #6 is so much higher than I expected. Impressed. Indeed! Wasn't her last album a pretty massive flop? And this covers album is on course for top ten? No longer the likes of Ronan Keating et al churn them out every year these days. DJ Fresh's sales are unbelievable, although at the same time I thought that it was on course for an 150k opening week sale so I don't know why I'm that surprised...nearly every British release has gone back to being held back :o

DJ Fresh, Example, Yasmin etc. etc. etc. have all been held back for the ridiculous amount of time, I think they're holding back their releases for far too long. I remember being annoyed by Booty Luv 'Say It' being held back for almost half a year. At the same time we have 'Changed the Way You Kiss Me' which didn't only open with huge first week sales, but also is going to hold up in the top-3/5 for the fifth week!
July 5, 201114 yr Author Obviously Blondie missed out on a top 40 album placing, it was available with a fan pack magazine, http://www.myfavouritemagazines.co.uk/blon...-rock-fan-pack/
July 5, 201114 yr Not much change in the album charts, I expect to be the case through most of July and part of August, Summer is really a quiet period of album releases
July 5, 201114 yr Why is Glee 4 back? :wacko:I dunno why that album in particular (I prefer volumes 5 & 6 from the new season, personally) but the UK leg of the tour ended on Sunday. Which is probably the reason for it's climb back inside the top 40. This has probably been asked, but what were Bruno's first days sales for 'Grenade'? Or did we not get any info?
July 5, 201114 yr Author If Beyonce album is 61% down from last week, her opening sales last week were at 32k, I should imagine she is on 12.5k, which puts Adele around 9k-ish (3.6 behind)

I hope she can at least do 40k this week. I think she should hang on this week and also hang on next week after T in the Park.
July 5, 201114 yr At the same time we have 'Changed the Way You Kiss Me' which didn't only open with huge first week sales, but also is going to hold up in the top-3/5 for the fifth week! Example opened with 115k which is excellent opening sales. Yes, it's not as high as 'Grenade', 'On The Floor' or 'Someone Like You' but still it had great first week sales. I also don't think people can class tracks as being "frontloaded" anymore. People are still buying 'I Gotta Feeling' and 'Sex On Fire' so it just proves that songs continue selling well long after their initial release date.
