It's incredible that Someone Like You is top 30 after selling 1 million! :o

When was the last time that happened? Was it Hallelujah from 2009?

Someone Like You just manages to scrape top 30, I still LOVE this song, it still sounds beautiful. Unlike Rolling In The Deep which got old pretty quickly for me.

I would think so!

Congratulations  It must have been back in 2005 when the last song to sell a million while staying in the T40 happened :o (Tony Christie)

Edit - Forgot about Hallelujah :hithead:

The last non-charity, non-X Factor song to sell a million in the T40 must have been Kylie or Shaggy back in 2001 :o

its great that we have a million seller that reached it within a year, shows sales are really good atm :D plus its a great song as well that isn't Charity/X Factor related (a bit boring now though)

Technically it hasn't stayed in the top 40 the whole time :kink: As it had that one week at #47 ruining it. It's the first song in a while to sell a million while staying top 50 though! (Aside from Alexandra :P as that was special circumstances. Tony Christie would also be 'special circumstances' so I think the last 'normal' song to sell a million while staying top 50 would have been Shaggy :o)

I wonder if Scott will mention that it's a million seller? Probably not.

Born This Way out of the top 40 then. At last. :P

I'd rather that was in and this was out.

Yes, I am a borderline Gaga loon but I have both Adele albums and this really isn't her best song, can't believe how much bigger than Rolling In The Deep it's been...

Other way round for me. I got bored of Someone Like You, but can still listen to Rolling In The Deep and LOVE it.

I think it might've been Hallelujah by Alexandra Burke. I remember at the time hearing on the news that it had sold a million really soon after it was released. Although it also probably had a relatively short chart run too, so I'm not certain.

Someone Like You could end the year on 1.1 million sales easily, I think.

I must admit...

Set Fire To The Rain > Rolling In The Deep > Someone Like You

The only other song I can see selling a million this year is Party Rock Anthem. Maybe Price Tag too.

It's certain to be used a lot on the XF so I could see it getting 1.2m by the end of the year!

Rolling In The Deep >> Set Fire To The Rain >>>>> Someone Like You

IMHO obvs

This didn't do as well as I had hoped.
I was enjoying that run of ten consecutive fallers. It's madness that the climber which brings it to an end is something that's been around for ever, not even a new track!
