Yeah I don't know what the hell is up with that. Considering they got Dizzee FUCKING Rascal to do the rap on the English version of Loca then they pulled it from release here. I just think they have no idea how to market a bilingual woman who doesn't make dance or (mostly) R&B music in the UK.

Anyway AMAZED that SFG are still top 40 :o

I remember wondering about whether Radio 1 would playlist Loca at the time. Because they said they'll never playlsit Shakira again, but I think they always playlist any of Dizzee's song. So that would've been a bit of a dilemna for them.

They could've done a la Heart FM and made a Dizzee Rascal edit of Loca to play, I guess.

Confession time: I always thought it was "sniffed me out like I was takeaway"
Annoying that its going to have a seperate run
what a terrible song "You Know I'm No Good Is". The record is just about saved by the brass accompaniments, but the song itself is very weak

Amy Winehouse songs missing the top 40 today:

41. (--) Valerie - Mark Ronson feat. Amy Winehouse

45. (--) Valerie - Amy Winehouse

62. (--) Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow - Amy Winehouse

121. (--) Stronger Than Me - Amy Winehouse

193. (--) Pumps - Amy Winehouse

I know this one! And I thought I didn't know any aside from Rehab, Back To Black and Valerie. I like this one as well! :D

Hopefully I'll know the other ones I don't think I know.

So a good start on the Winehouse takeover for me!

Absolutely flawless run of singles from Winehouse. I loved Rehab but I still remember thinking that she was definitely something special the first time I heard You Know I'm No Good...

They did? :o Why? :manson:

Oh god, can you imagine :/ I thought they could have a go with Rabiosa but they'd have to rename it Come Closer :/

Why are they playing the Ghostface Killah version of the song, when it was the album version that has charted? Annoying.

Because Radio 1 always plays tracks of this nature.

Shocked it made it this high! A shame it couldn't make it higher though - her version is easily up there with Back To Black as one of the greatest tracks of all time.

WTF was that rap about?

Sometimes I think rappers could rap about keeping their clothing accessories at the abode of their mother or fathers' sister, and it would still be a massive hit.

Well, Enrique's broken his top 20 run then! Can't see him springing back from THIS drop...

This sounds hugely like Breathing Your Love by Darin/Kat DeLuna!

Last year Radio 1 did a behind the scenes week, or something like that. Where the listeners had more on an insight of what went behind the scenes. One of the things they did in that week was on Twitter they had someone tweet what happened in one of the playlist meetings (and what actually happens is they essentially listen to a selection of songs and the playlist panel decides whether to playlist it). I beleive it was the week Poison by Nicole Scherzinger got playlisted that this happened.

And anyway, they talked about it a bit more, and they said something along the lines of them not playlisting artists who put out "cookie-cutter" pop songs, or something like that, and they specifically mentioned Enrique Iglesias, Sharkira and Alexandra Burke, if I remember correctly.
