'Count On Me' has been getting airplay since the albums release for some reason. There was talk of it being a single of TLS and MY at some point too, because of the airplay. It's easily the most radio friendly track on DW&H though and it's the most accessible. It'll be played in shops and stores whether it's a single or not. The place I work at play it quite regularly. I don't mind though as I love it.

 

EDIT: and my work are also playing 'Talking to the Moon' a lot. The only ones they don't play are 'Grenade', 'The Lazy Song' and 'Marry You', and considering COM and TTTM were featured on his 'It's Better If You Don't Understand' EP (before the album/JTWYA was released) I'm thinking it's taking them a while to catch up.

Can't say I am mad on it on first listen. Doesn't strike me as a hit either. It sounds like it would be a great song, if it had a big chorus, but just doesn't.

Gurrlll you deaf! I love this. Flo's vocal's have moved forward a lot too...she sounds really soulfull.

It's amazing :wub: Not quite on the level of Cosmic Love or Dog Days or Rabbit Heart just yet but I prefer to YGTL, which I do love but is overrated and I wish it wasn't her biggest hit.

I think I have heard of Tom Waits, didn't Scarlette Johanson do a covers album of his songs not long ago? I did listen to some of his stuff a while ago - it really wasn't my thing so I wasn't keen, but I can appreciate he's a very good musician and I can see the appeal to other people.

I don't usually care how a song does in the charts (unless it's The Saturdays) but i'm actually a bit gutted that 'Pot Of Gold' went to #43 on iTunes for about two weeks and is now out of the top 100. One of the best songs i've heard this year.

He's what you'd call a cult star. He hasn't had any hits on his own steam, but his songs have been covered by other artists (most notably, Jersey Girl by Bruce Springsteen) and he's built up a sizeable fanbase. He is notable for his gravelly voice, which has been compared to the Cookie Monster. See below:

Before Heart FM playlsited Count on Me, the only Bruno album track that I ever heard on the radio was Marry You, and now that's a single anyway.

 

Count on Me up to #129.

Yes. It's a shame really. :( It's a very good song. At least you and me appreciate it. :lol: It might get another week in the top 100 with the album version combined though.

I have completely changed my mind on it already, I think its great on second listen :kink:. Still think the chorus could be bigger though.

Agreed. I only remember Dog Days Are Over and You've Got The Love. The former's alright, the latter not so much (and I'm not a fan of the original either). Maybe I haven't listened to enough, but I've always found her a very overrated artist.

 

I will give this new one a listen soon, and I'll see if anything changes.

Florence could be the reincarnation of Queen Elizabeth :cheer: The first album is GREAT, I've seen her live and she was IMPRESSIVE :wub:

 

This song sounds good after a first listen, and I'm pretty sure it's a real big grower !

 

I do wonder if Florence and Marina could do a Adele/Duffy and swap their popularity with their second albums ! Not that I see it happening though, there seems to be much more hype around Florence.

Wet and both versions of Party All Night (Sleep All Day) are now 59p, guess that explains why they are climbing quickly.
