Hoping Maroon 5 can somehow grap the number 1 today, but it probably won't happen. :(

I thought 'Rolling In The Deep' would be massive and would have been #1 though it seems weird now to think that Bruno Mars kept it off. I've really tired of Adele this era but RITD still sounds fantastic to me.

Also am I the only one who really wants Snow Patrol top 10 today?

no, but I don't think it will :(

why has this re-entered? I don't think I heard it on X Factor

It was... last week. It's quite impressive that it held on.

the 2006 retro was amazing...remind me again how rudeboy and scissor sisters rose to their peaks?were the singles out midweek or something?

also never be lonely by the feeling was great!!pity they were sent to radio 2 so quickly!! :(

no, but I don't it will :(

It was performed last week. Although they only showed a small clip of the performance.

All Adele songs will probably rise massively every weekend now anyway. :drama:

"Grenade" oddly seems to have underperformed in the long run. Following JTWYA it was obviously going to be huge (the fact that it's actually a damn good song helped as well) and it seemed to spend ages in the top 10 before dropping pretty quickly. Maybe the success of "The Lazy Song" stole its thunder?

Early days of downloads only a week before physical release - downloads had a smaller market than now, hence lower entries a week before a rise.

her songs always stay for ages in the top 40, must be the great video play!!

Why does everyone say its weird that Bruno Mars kept this off number one? After all, Grenade is the bigger seller ;)

Because after this massive era, you'd have expected the lead to be at #1 I guess. And RITD still seems massive now and seems like it should have been a #1. It's difficult to explain -_-

34 weeks and 'Rolling in the Deep' has dropped now lower than #52 - pretty impressive. I think re-entering for a second time after only 7 weeks is also an achievement, although we can expect to see it drop again come next Sunday.
"Grenade" oddly seems to have underperformed in the long run. Following JTWYA it was obviously going to be huge (the fact that it's actually a damn good song helped as well) and it seemed to spend ages in the top 10 before dropping pretty quickly. 800k for a second single isn't 'underperformed in the long run'

It did do excellently, but because of having JTWYA (as the previous single) and Rolling In The Deep (which it beat to #1) to measure up to, it seems to have not as done as well in terms of longevity, I think. Shame, because I never got tired of it, unlike his other singles.

It won't be for much longer. RITD will overtake Grenade in the long term.

Remember Grenade still has a 1-week advantage and that was its biggest sales week. RITD was only 82k behind Grenade last week and it's probably selling, what, 5-6k more per week now? So it'll overtake some time next year unless Grenade suddenly gets a massive boost or RITD stops selling for some reason.

thats right then was it in january they got rid of the rule when you could release a dload only a week before the cd?

love most of the 2006 retro, it was when the singles chart was really starting to make its comeback and this would be crowned a year later with massive top 2 sales for bleeding love and rule the world - its increased even more since then!! :D
