September 14, 201115 yr I'll let Kasabian and The Kooks go but Called Out In The Dark is Snow Patrol's best ever single for me. All I can say is 'Set Fire To The Third Bar.' That's the best single ever for me. 'Called Out In The Dark' is good too though, as well as 'Just Say Yes.' I found quite a few previous singles to be quite boring though. Hopefully more Gaga airplay will allow the song to get a bit higher. It has grown on me but it was definitely a mistake to release in the UK.
September 14, 201115 yr I dont like Video Games at all, one of those winners that just mindboggled me. Overrated. This. I just don't get it. Very rarely when I don't get a song, do I end up liking it. The only thing which I can think that I ended up loving was Alors On Danse, but even that took a LONG TIME to click. And I mean a long time... I can't see this going the same way, usually if I don't instantly build a connection with a ballad, I never do. :(

How that remains their highest peaking single, I shall never know. :(
September 14, 201115 yr Signal Fire clearly topping the 'most boring Snow Patrol single' list. How that remains their highest peaking single, I shall never know. :( Wasn't it the Spider-man 3 soundtrack single, hence the extra promo? You're right though, it was incredibly plain. Personally I preferred the Spider-man 2 one, I miss random Swedish women popping up in the top ten! YIOScMyyM2U And actually, as much as it PAINS me to say it (and trust me, it really does), the best of the three by far was Hero by Chad Kroeger/Josey Scott. Such a good song musically, I only wish it wasn't sung by such a monstrosity :(
September 14, 201115 yr I think Snow Patrol's top 10 hits are their worst songs in general, 'Run' aside. 'Take Back The City' is okay as well but nowhere near their best.
September 14, 201115 yr I need to buy Up To Now, the third album and the new one when it's released. Final Straw and Eyes Open is not enough Snow Patrol for me at the minute.

'Take Back The City' is okay as well but nowhere near their best. partly agree, Just Say Yes is brilliant and should've been bigger :( its bizarre that Signal Fire outpeaked both Run & Chasing Cars, when I few years on, I don't remember the last time I've heard it (yet I almost know every lyric of the other two), I think people got really caught up in the Spider Man hype Edited September 14, 201115 yr by C.W

You're All I Have is their best single. [/unpopular opinion] Snowy Top 10. You're All I Have >> Run >>>> Take Back The City >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Chasing Cars >>> Signal Fire.
September 14, 201115 yr Run >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Take Back The City >>>>>>>>> Signal Fire > You're All I Have. I think my feelings on Chasing Cars are fairly well documented. However, I think 'Chocolate', 'Set The Fire To The Third Bar', 'Open Your Eyes', 'Crack The Shutters', 'Just Say Yes' and 'Called Out In The Dark' are all better than Take Back The City (I don't recall hearing Spitting Games or How To Be Dead and the lyrics don't ring a bell) Edited September 14, 201115 yr by Bré
September 14, 201115 yr I need to buy Up To Now, the third album and the new one when it's released. Final Straw and Eyes Open is not enough Snow Patrol for me at the minute. Final Straw was actually their third album, their first album was actually Songs for Polarbears, released in 1998.
September 14, 201115 yr I don't care much for them at all in all honesty (and Chasing Cars has been overplayed to the point where I find it dire - used to find it average) but I do own one of their singles on CD, and that's the beautiful Set Fire To The Third Bar - the huge smash that never really was :(

September 14, 201115 yr "Run" is godly, and even survived Leona desecrating it. "Take Back The City" is also wonderful, and "Chasing Cars" is still a really good song if you ignore the fact that you've heard it seventy bazillion times.
September 14, 201115 yr I actually still love Chasing Cars despite overplay - much like Someone Like You or Make You Feel My Love. If a song is good enough it can survive that. Run is great too, though I'll hold my hands up and admit I prefer Leona's version... I do like a few Snow Patrol songs and all have already been mentioned - except for one. And that is Crack The Shutters. SO underrated!
September 14, 201115 yr Author The only song I liked by them was Chocolate, although its definitely not my thing. I can see why people did love Chasing Cars though

CRACK THE SHUTTERS OPEN WIDE I WANT TO BE WITH YOU IN THE LIGHT OF DAY. Highlight of an album, but sadly did not reach the Top 10. :( I think they're the words anywho... :P

I actually did mention Crack The Shutters :P That's probably my third favourite of theirs after Called Out In The Dark and Run, mystified as to how it never even went top 40
September 14, 201115 yr What a shame, Leona Lewis off already, only made B-List, looking like it may not even crack top 40 on radio :( Still made top 5
