Saturday Night.

(For the uninformed, this is NOT a cover of the Whigfield song. Also, slap yourself 7 times for even thinking that Suede would cover said track).

Ah yes. Filmstar was top 10 though wasn't it?

Make that 107.

That Afroman song was AWFUL. 3 weeks at #1 though :(

The easiest job in music is surely producing this track. It's just a Casio keyboard drum track looped for 3 minutes.

I found it funny, who'dve thought there'd ever be a song like that? 2001 was pretty awful at this point though, most of them are pure guilty pleasures and not much else!

It was. In fact, all 5 singles from the 'Coming Up' album went top 10 (although they plummeted down the charts after the first week)

I'd imagine the easiest job in music is being Howard Donald (or Jason Orange). No one knows who you are and you do practically nothing but you're still part of a massively successful band and earn loads of money. :D

That top 2 in 2010 is one of the worst I've ever seen (in my opinion). :( I much prefer the 2006 top 2 (even though, based on the types of the songs, and the artists, I'd expect it to be the other way around).

It takes a lot of work to have such chiseled jawlines and washboard abs, you know.

Add Nicky from Westlife, Lee from Steps and countless others to this list!

You're right, I wouldn't have expected it from you! I like the top 2 for 2010, "Forget You" is beginning to be fun again now I've stopped hearing it EVERYWHERE and I've grown to tolerate "Just The Way You Are" as it's now no longer the sappy love song of choice for people sending Youtube links to their boy/girlfriends over Facebook. However, the top 2 in 2006 is pretty much the best I've ever seen. As I probably said last week  I pine for the day when two songs like "...Black Parade" and "America" can have something resembling a chart battle when it's for a meaningful position.

01. (-) Afroman - Because I Got High

02. (1) Kylie Minogue - Can't Get You Out Of My Head

03. (3) DJ Otzi - Hey Baby

04. (-) Britney Spears - I'm A Slave 4 U

05. (-) Mis-teeq - One Night Stand

06. (2) Michael Jackson - You Rock My World

07. (4) City High - What Would You Do

08. (5) Usher - U Got It Bad

09. (9) Alien Ant Farm - Smooth Criminal

10. (6) Steps - Chain Reaction/One For Sorrow

This is an AMAZING top 10 imo. Because I Got High always makes me laugh even now. Hey Baby is awesome. Basically a classic now. I'm a Slave 4 U is INCREDIBLE. I love that song. Such a tune. I love the City High song aswell. Coincidentally, I heard it on the radio again only yesterday! :o I love how it randomly bursts into a Dr. Dre song halfway through. Usher's song is great aswell. Shame his songs today aren't that good. :( I love Chain Reaction aswell. If you asked me what my favourite song out of those was in 2001, I'd've said Chain Reaction tbh.

Rebecca? What's she doing on the chart show?
The 2001 list was terrible. One half decent effort (City High), a couple of a dreadful covers, and the rest a list of poor songs (and in most cases, performed poorly as well)
Rebecca? What's she doing on the chart show?

I hope they'll play the single ! It's always a good sign to be featured on one of Radio 1 biggest shows, hopefully it means she'll be supported.
