Cannonball was chosen for Janet when it semeed she would win IMO. Seems strange they would choose a single to suit her and then sabotage her though.

Also re: Pixie, I agree for the most part that she brings nothing new to the table but you can't say What Do You Take Me For? wasn't a change to what we usually get in the UK top 10. That was a risk and that was something "new to the table".

That's true about What Do You Take Me For? She could've released another Give Me Everything clone like All About Tonight, and that would've been guaranteed top 5 and masive radio airplay, but WFYTMF, whilst admittedly sounding like those urban-pop songs from 7 years ago, was very different and unique in a top 10 in 2011, and got bad airplay by Pixie's standards.

So I don't think it was "safe" to release that at all. It would've been safer to go to some kid and ask him to spend 10 minutes making an electropop instrumental on Garageband for her to sing over. I honestly would not be at all surprised if that's the story behind how All About Tonight was made. Anybody could've made that song!! It's so awful.

Not to mention, I personally love What Do You Take Me For?, even if nobody else in the country seems to, so I'm really glad she released it, from a selfish perspective.

Agreed. What Do You Take Me For? is nothing new, it is essentially a throwback to 2003, it sounds like Busta Rhymes and Ashanti (or something) should be singing it... That said, I love it alot more than All About Tonight and is certainly unique in respect to other 2011 releases. :D

Pixie might be best to take a break and comeback with something special. WDYTMF is really awful by her standards.

Yeah, totally. I got into nostalgia mode the other day, and I was listening to a lot of RnB songs from back then, and I kept thinking "Oh, that sounds a bit like What Do You Take Me For?", which is why I said that  And yeah, Ashanti was EVERYWHERE back then. As were Ja Rule, Jennifer Lopez, Nelly, Destiny's Child. That was such a good time for mainstream music. Probably why I like the song so much too.

PIXIE LOTT IS A WEAPON. I love What Do You Take Me For, arguably my favorite video for obvious reasons. All About Tonight is just amazing though!

A weapon. What kind of weapon Lee :o

of mass destruction.....

I have a really bad feeling about MWs now. :(

Little Mix weren't my favourites on XF (obviously :P) but they were one of my general favourites so I would love for them to get the Christmas #1. The first girl-group to get Xmas #1 since 'Sound of the Underground' in 2002 (9 years ago). :D

Having said that, 'Cannonball' was a poor winner's single song choice. I like Damien Rice but his songs don't suit the winner's single. 'Your Song' by Elton John would have actually been far more suitable both lyrically and musically.

Why a cover?

Why a ballad?

Why something Ellie Goulding did last year?

If Pixie Lott is a bomb, I'd happily detonate her. :kink:

Lets not start this again Eric :kink:

Coldplay now over 80% of Little Mix. Not gaining as quickly as they were yesterday but still gaining quite quickly.
Price Tag just performed on the Strictly final

Badly as well - she really adds a load of pointless 'beats' and extras to the song - JUST SING IT LOVE!

This could boost it towards the million though......

Did Jessie J herself perform it? That's strange. Maybe she really wants to beat LMFAO in the year-end chart.

I also heard One Day Like This playing on TV somewhere aswell.

Sigh.

Sorry. I'll try and keep my LUSTFUL thoughts about Pixie Lott to myself next time.

Wish 'International Love' would go top 40. Brilliant song. Pitbull and Chris Brown are fantastic together (recommened 'Where Do We Go' as well!)

I really like Christopher Brown's new song (like his own new single, not the one with Pitbull). I don't imagine it doing well in the UK though, as it's not that UK friendly. Plus, I think he gave it out to his fans for free download a while back, so it won't get the fanbase sales.

So many old songs climbing right now, how comes? Bit early for iTunes gift cards to be the exuse  So i just wonderered if any other specific reason? I mean Someone Like You for example is back right  to #45! Set Fire To The Rain #50, and Rolling in the Deep just for Adele examples. but other old songs too climbing.
