Dare I say it, the Damian Rice version is more uplifting than the Little Mix version! The beat is quicker than I've noticed it before.

 

They just played the faster, more produced radio mix, you've probably heard the slower album version in the past.

What's this 'Rockstar boost' everyone keeps referring to?

 

Nickelback's Rockstar peaked low top 20 in November 2007 before taking off and hitting #2 and spending months in the top ten in early 2008 after the xmas songs/novelties had all died off. Shame Rockstar wasn't one of them :lol:

 

Does the female/squeaky vocal in Mama Do The Hump remind anybody of the female part of Cotton Eye Joe by Rednex?

First time I have heard this, like it on first listen, sounds better than their last one but doesn't touch DWTT. The middle 8 is a bit displaced I feel however.

Yes, but so did En Vogue :P Their iTunes movements were pretty much the same and they were very close in some of the mids, so I found it odd Damien held as high as #19 while En Vogue fell to #27!

This X Factor charity single is so much better than 'You are not alone' and 'Heroes' but not as good as 'Hero' IMO.

Last years charity single was only at #7 by this time, if I remember correctly. X Factor really are losing their power, especially with Little Mix's bound to be disappointing sales.
