They should have a rule about no current top 40 song getting reduced. I'm still a little angry at the way Rizzle Kick's record company tried to manouvre a number one last week with a reduction. It creates an unfair playing field.

 

Paradise wouldn't have got to #1 if it wasn't reduced on iTunes though.

 

And I know people will disagree, but Jar of Hearts may never have been such a big hit if it wasn't 59p. It will benefit songs people like, and songs people don't like, it's just the way it is.

You can't assume that, it was selling double whatever #2 was (can't remember) after their XF performance, that can't ALL be down to the reduction. The reduction has no doubt helped it a lot but you can't credit all its success to that.

Only bad thing about International Love is the awful diction on the chorus. It's supposed to be "you put it down like New York City, I never sleep, wild like Los Angelas, I feel the heat, hotter than Miami, my fantasy" but it sounds nothing like that.

Idont mind record companies reducing follow singles from albums as it helps the artist have better chart runs but dont enjoy random old songs having random chart songs like Earthquake bouncing up to 11 again simply because it went to 59p during the week, its a bit like songs getting random spot plays on tv shows!

I know that, but Little Mix got #1 that week, and then Military Wives the week after. Paradise was 59p for an entire month I think, and I don't think it would've still been at #1 on iTunes so long after its performance without it. But we can never know for sure.

 

But people should stop complaining. It's immature to complain when it benefits a song they don't like, and say nothing when it helps a song that they do like.

Record companies have always manipulated the charts though with pricing (CD singles being £1.99 the first week and then £2/3.99 the week after) so its hardly anything unfair or new.

I dont get why people are annoyed about songs going 59p - it makes the charts more interestingand unpredictable and helps sales too.
