But they're all quite similar ballads. A female singing over a piano, and the piano and singing are nice in all of them imo.

Oh god Eric, don't continue this

No, they are pretty different. Its like saying one rap song is the same as another when they aren't!

It's not in the chart at all. It's ineligible, as confirmed by the OCC.

It MAY not be- this was posted by Robbie on Haven earlier today...

"I've just been informed that the OCC were this morning looking at whether to allow the track to chart this evening. I'm not sure why they should even be considering doing this since it is clear that the pre-order promotion means that the track is ineligible. Perhaps it's because the pre-order promotion ends tomorrow?"

Why do so many people hate Skinny Love and Wherever You Will Go, but like Someone Like You and Empire State of Mind, Part II? They're all equally nice imo.

Skinny Love and Wherever You Will Go are horrendously dull and lazy cover versions of very good indie/rock songs. (I don't like ESOM(PII)BD either because it's essentially also a very dull cover, but with all the good parts removed and replaced by more tedious parts).

Oh god Eric, don't continue this

Sorry. It's just the almost completley OPPOSITE opinions of the songs on here. In the same way you'd expect someone that likes Boom Boom Pow to like Like a G6, since the songs are similar, so I would expect someone that likes Jar of Hearts to like Someone Like You.

But whatever, I'll stop, since clearly I'm making people angry again. :drama:

I agree that the Madonna song sounds like Hey Mickey a bit (which Girlfriend by Avril Lavigne also sounds like ).

ESOM(PII) is not a 'cover' seeing as she was the one who wrote the original song, and its her song

to be honest I can see the point of OCC why they disqualify a song if you can get it through pre-rodering an album.

Although the song will be charged if you complete the album, it will cost less, subtracted the price of the song you've downloaded during the pre-order period. So if you complete the album, it will count towards the album chart, but the song cannot count towards the singles, because it was bought actually together with the album, although you got it earlier. I hope it was clear

No Eric, you don't make people angry here, but you make yourself look incompetent

I know, that's why I said 'essentially' :P

Redlight holding up well :D I'm glad Coldplay have managed a 15th week top 20 over this though.

I am addicted to this song so much right now. Its chord progression reminds me of 'Smells Like Teen Spirit'

The chorus of Empire State of Mind, Part II was written by the woman that sings I Need Air by Magnetic Man, Alicia only wrote the verses.

Bre does have a good point. It's the covers that are hated (in general) and the originals that are liked (in general) on here. Maybe that's part of the reason.

Album Discussion Here

I like the way Birdy's version has so much femininity and innocence and Bon Iver's original is quite masculine and rugged, even if still very sensitive.
This is possibly my favourite (or least hated) Coldplay song. Although the only ones I remember (at least from the titles) from before this album are Speed of Sound, Clocks and Viva La Vida, so I haven't exactly heard much of their discography to make a judgement.
