It's often the case that rappers release several singles before the parent album - and that's never going to help sales of the latter...

 

It's a fine line though, with someone like Kanye he's going to have a core fanbase buying the album no matter how many singles they already have from it and if the singles are good then it'll only encourage more casual buyers. Well, that was the idea at least. Why no one bought an album which we'd already heard "Power", "Monster" and "Runaway" from I don't know given that's three of his career best right there.

Jay Z now back up to #11 and is really nearing StooShe. I really can't seem the former making the official top-10 now though, especially with a bunch of new big releases next week.

 

And to think this week's chart isn't going to be that dull? Quite a bit of movement with Alexandra, Swedish House Mafia and Jason Mraz all debuting in the chart, Azealia, LMFAO and M.I.A. debuting in the top-40 + a few of climbers / big fallers.

 

Dappy up to #21 now. STILL looking only for two top-20 weeks with a peak of #2. Absolutely dire.
