September 9, 201213 yr I still cannot believe this not only got to number 1 but stayed there for 3 weeks! Same! The biggest surprise number one I've seen. Even with a Calvin Harris mix, I didn't think it would even trouble the Top 75! It's a great song though

September 9, 201213 yr Glad that Flo Rida missed the Top 10 for this week at least - it means fun. managed to reach the Top 10 with Some Nights! :D I might check out the song that I Cry samples, because that bit sounds quite addictive!

September 9, 201213 yr 'I Cry' sounds exactly as I expected - which is good, because I like it :P I did love 'Cry (Just A Little)'. YES at 'Some Nights' top 10 :cheer: Edited September 9, 201213 yr by Bré
September 9, 201213 yr Great, Flo has destroyed another Dave Pearce Dance Anthem (ask your slightly older brother) :(
September 9, 201213 yr Glad that Flo Rida missed the Top 10 for this week at least - it means fun. managed to reach the Top 10 with Some Nights! :D I might check out the song that I Cry samples, because that bit sounds quite addictive! Pretty much the entire song uses the sample, not just the chorus. The instrumental in the verses is from the song. So you've pretty much heard the song already. Although the Bingo Players song also uses a sample of an older song, so I guess they're even.
September 9, 201213 yr I don't why, but Flo Rida just pisses me off now. :P It might be because I'm used to him usually having one huge hit ever few years but in the past 10 months he's been all over the airways. And tbh, his songs are kind of unique (:o never though I'd be saying that) so they stick in your head from the first time you hear 'em. EDIT: But saying that, they're only 'unique' because of the amazing samples he's used in two of them. Edited September 9, 201213 yr by Childish Bambino

September 9, 201213 yr Huzzah at Some Nights top 10, my favourite song from the album, although It Gets Better is close.
September 9, 201213 yr I really didn't expect fun. to have any other decent songs besides 'We Are Young' but I'm increasingly of the opinion that 'Some Nights' is actually way better.

On Youtube I stumbled across a Youtube video from summer 2011 of Flo Rida rapping over the Levels. It's amazing a random remix he did just for fun became a massive worldwide hit. He also rapped over We Found Love and Where Have You Been recently, so maybe they'll be on his next album.

Roll on the inevitable Grammys performance with Ladysmith Black Mambazo :kink:
