Hopefully this'll be Payphone's last week in the top 40, assuming an X Factor rendition isn't forthcoming.

8 new entries? Hopefully this means that both EE and Jake Bugg have made it then.

*Shudders* A stark reminder of how poor single sales were just 5 years ago!

The number 10 in 1997 sold the same as the number 1 in 2007 :(

This must be Payphone's last week top 40 surely. (Until the New Year iTunes gift card boost obvz).

Nothing would surprise me with Maroon 5 after the chart stalwart that was 'Moves Like Jagger' - Could see this hanging around at the bottom of the Top 40 for a few weeks yet or dropping out for a week and then re-entering, Radio still seem to love this song too!

Such a shame "Little Talks" wasn't massive, it's grown on me an awful lot since I first heard it - as did "Pumped Up Kicks" which I suppose was its 2011 equivalent.

For me Pumped Up Kicks was a lot more massive. I mean, not in the charts exactly but to my impression. 'Pumped Up Kicks' still sounds fresh and it genuinely undeservedly missed the #1 top-10, while I purely expected 'Little Talks' to end up like this: a strong moderate top-15 hit, a place where it exactly deserves to be in.

:o Was not expecting John Denver to manage to hang on to a place in the Top 40 as it fell away quite quickly on iTunes
Does anyone really like this?
Surprised to see 'Annie's Song' held on - not an awful song but not exactly a favourite either :P

Always had a soft spot for Annie's Song, not that I knew what it was called :kink:

"You fill up my senses like a night in a forest"... hmmm.

I never realised Spice Girls absolutely smashed Aqua's sales that week. I assumed they'd be closer than that with the turn around next week. Still amazing sales.

Nice to see Payphone get another week. One More Night to creep top 10 please!

I assume Pink has left the chart. Shame it wasn't a bigger hit.

Annie's Song isn't my favourite but it's rather pleasant, a nice break from the rest of the charts even though it's flanked by songs more similar to it than would usually be the case

So happy Everything Everything managed a top 40 place. :yahoo:

First time hearing Annie's Song. It's not bad but it's forgettable.

Yes Everything Everything  Amazingly catchy and weird song!
