Rihanna should easily overtake GA, that will have all their pre-orders and fanatical buys included and will tail of loads like the single did.

But Rhianna has Sunday's sales as well in her total, Girls Aloud do not. So i guess its kinda equal eh?

So if Olly does have 45k he'll definiltely surpass the 100k mark, right?

Definitely over 100k, seems to be doing better than Rihanna (Rihanna was on 35k this time last week, her total sales were just under 100k in the end), tomorrow's update will have today's sales, so another 20k-25k for today, should put him around 70k, I say his total sales for the week is looking at 130k or thereabouts.

Ugh. Disgusting position and sales for a brilliant GH! :( Was to be expected though I guess. Also, why were people expecting less for GA? Sueely anything less than a top 5 for this would be terrible!

Well that's Olly's 2nd #1 album and 3rd straight 100k+ opening in the bag as if it wasn't already. Just good to see confirmation :P I think he'll land somewhere in between the opening sales of 'In Case You Didn't Know' and 'Olly Murs'.

One Direction's album actually holding up rather well, Ed Sheeran has really done wonders for them it seems - I don't think it would have done nearly this well if released off the back of 'Live While We're Young'.

Alicia Keys' album must be #5 or at the very lowest #6 behind Bublé surely? I'm surprised she's not ahead of Rihanna (even despite Rihanna being on XF).

Yay for GA, I was really scared to see it miss the top 10 :(

Now I hope they can chart inside the top5 by Sunday. Go girls go go go go !

I pre-ordered it from their website to get pre-sale concert tickets.

Was expecting more, it will plummet during the week

It has one of the best GA songs ever (in my top 3) new song "On The Metro" brilliant choon.

I Hope Alicia Keys is at no 5. Her last album did very well. I think Alicia is probably an "Anastacia" type act where she doesn't have a large core fanbase, and the success of the album depends on the success of the singles.

Tbh sales all round are a bit crap, but with 3 editions and the download you'd have thought GA could have muster 20k at least. You only have to go on music forums and read to see most of their fans have brought at least 2 editions and pre-ordered them at that. looking at 45k and #5/6/7

I think so too. But the album is absolutely brilliant for a boy band, there are loads of other potential hits too. LWWY was actually a bit too safe choice for first single.

Well, I'm famous on here to be a diehard Girls Aloud fan, and I only bought the deluxe edition (and was even tempted to buy later in December when I have more money  ).

I know you can read online crazy stories about fans getting 10 copies, but in real life, I don't think that's happening much...

Well done Olly Murs again!Keep it up. I am honestly delighted with Girls Aloud so far, i expected low top 10 for this album and a possible chance of missing the top 10. I had based this on the fact it is a second Greatest Hits following on from a previous million selling one, so in terms of all that they are doing great. It really is reality show top 3 in the album again this week but im certainly not complaining.

Kelly Clarkson is performing as i iexpected, i had feared she would get lost in the new releases and existing big sellers, i do hope she can claw her way into the top 20.

Well Olly fans have done the same. He had a signed CD single out last week for £3.99!! and many of his fans are buying his album boxset, standard, deluxe and digital editions too so it's not just GA. There's always mega fans there's never enough to make any big difference anyway. I'm sure Rhianna has them too.

Considering GA's biggest album Out of Control sold 26,000 copies in the first day - Ten selling 19,000 is pretty good for one day for them. It's just the Olly comparison making it look worse...

I dont compare them to Olly, Olly has female support which 1D also rely on and it's a much bigger achievement and feat for a pop group especially a female one to break through like they have. Olly also is at the height of his fame, and gets weekly promotion on Xtra Factor so every bit helps with him i'm sure too.

I am one of the mega fans who will be buying multiple copies for my collection but not everyone is doing that so it'll make little difference chart wise and every artist has their hard core supporters so it all equals out.

Well GA, not that bad 19k in one day.

I think so too. But the album is absolutely brilliant for a boy band, there are loads of other potential hits too. LWWY was actually a bit too safe choice for first single.

Even I'll agree there - I love LWWY but it really isn't that representative of the album.

Well it is their second greatest hits collection.

To be fair though most of their best songs were released after the greatest hits.

so #2 to #4 are so close only roughy 1k sales difference.

I should expect GA will maybe drop to #4 through the week. As i'm sure their first day sales are very skewed. However, by Saturday it could change again?

I don't think it will *plummet* during the week - it will EASILY remain Top 10, but it could drop a couple of positions.

How is The War of the Worlds OST getting on? Any idea?

I was actually going to come here and say Alicia is performing rather poorly but I can't say I entirely disagree with this. Would have expected her to do better all the same but if she can get a good era going (even if it will be virtually impossible to match The Element of Freedom), she'll be fine.
