December 30, 201213 yr Latch has been a mainstay in my listening habits while at uni, wonderful song. Making it 3 months in the top 40 is very encouraging. :D
December 30, 201213 yr It looks like the post-Christmas gift-card effect has taken hold again. It makes you pine for the days when Iron Maiden would grace the top 5 by releasing their latest song at this period. Ah metal, one genre of music almost entirely devoid from the charts since the advent of downloads.
December 30, 201213 yr I don't get the constant love for Niggas in Paris.. It's 1,5 years old already for god's sake. Kanye has released another collaboration album since then. This. I love NIP and it's better than anything on Cruel Summer but it would be lovely to hear "Mercy" or "To The World" on the chart show. Or even to have "Clique" back.
December 30, 201213 yr You would think that record companies would hold back a big release until this week so they could get a cheap number 1?

December 30, 201213 yr DJ Fresh adding yet another top 40 week, slightly disappointed it's not stayed top 30 again though :P The Pogues still to come as (more or less) confirmed by Scott just now :D
December 30, 201213 yr Hi everyone... really hoping will.i.am and Britney will climb to No.2 this week!
December 30, 201213 yr 'Latch' now 'Gold Dust'. Two of the three best dance songs of 2012 (I know GD isn't really a 2012 song) along with 'Feel the Love'. Massive
December 30, 201213 yr Latch and Gold Dust! I've just been out on a run and I heard the beginning of the chart while I was out. Hearing all of those re-entries was very refreshing, I particularly felt like I was on top of the world when I heard Niggas In Paris. :D And surely that must be a record for the most re-entries at the beginning of the chart?! I think that there were four re-entries at the beginning of the chart... Victim of the demise of the fanbase purchase - as a general rule older pop acts like Kylie have fans who care about the charts enough to buy six copies of the same song, metal fans will get the song by any means as soon as they can so it's impossible to have a big hit if you're a metal act unless the radio stations stop blacklisting them.
December 30, 201213 yr It's a shame that this rather pointless re-edit managed to peak higher than the original :(

Disclosure are huge at the moment. I saw them before, and they really don't look like you would imagine them to! They seem really young as well.

December 30, 201213 yr It's a shame that this rather pointless re-edit managed to peak higher than the original :( Actually the original version was more popular in the last couple of weeks still. At least on iTunes.
