Justin's song is horrible. i don't know why it's #1

Two weeks into 2013 and there's been so many chart surprises! :dance:

Had a feeling I'd come home to Justin being #1 :D 2 weeks in a row with a massively hyped OA/OS comeback going straight to #1 on iTunes, seems like something that happens all the time in the USA but not so much here!

 

Not yet listened to 'Suit & Tie' but just happy to see Justin smashing. I think he will be able to get official #1 pretty easily to be honest, sales are going to be rock bottom and I think he'll hold up at #1 more or less all week (or at least hold up WAY better than Bowie did).

 

Aside from that:

 

29. Black Chandelier - Biffy Clyro

65. Shadow Moses - Bring Me the Horizon

Could finally give them a top 100 single but will probably only stick around for a couple of days (I think the lead single from their last album did that as well).

 

78. Kemosabe - Everything Everything

This is approximately how high I predicted this to EVER get, let alone in just 16 hours - maybe it could even outpeak 'Cough Cough'? I still haven't even listened to this because I'm an awful fan but I will be listening to their album very soon :P

Britney, Justin and Eminem all in the top 10! It's like the 90's all over again!

 

That's ok, it felt like the 80's for a time last week with Bowie and Bon Jovi in the Top 10 on itunes. I wonder what next week will bring? A 70's feel with surprise releases from Abba or TRex? :lol:

Arent the charts wonderful so far this year - not music wise but just all the big new artists returning - britney with a no1 last week now Mr JT and Eminem having a chance of their first number 1s in years now all we need is U2 to comeback with a bang!!

Is 'Suit & Tie' being removed from iTunes on the 21st January? :unsure: There was a press statement in the pop forum saying it'll be available until the 21st. Surely if the track was to end up no. 1 in many countries, they will decide to keep the track selling to maintain its sales?

As for the song itself, I'm not really sold on the track after 1 listen of the preview so will listen to the track in full if it's on YouTube (haven't checked yet) to see if it changes my opinion. First listen of the 'Where Are We Now?' preview left me undecided. It was only after watching the video and hearing the song in full that the song clicked.

Ahh, so it's been released exclusively to iTunes. :D Makes sense I guess as iTunes is by far the biggest retailer of digital music. I wonder how much 'Suit & Tie' would sell this week if it had been released exclusively to 7digital instead? :kink:
