I really wouldn't mind if just once, it was Professor Green's original version that was getting the boost. I just don't rate Emeli's version, at all. :(

Britain's Got Talent:

30. PSY - Gentleman

94. Taylor Swift - Everything Has Changed (feat. Ed Sheeran)

143. Beyoncé - If I Were a Boy

147. Taylor Swift - Everything Has Changed (feat. Ed Sheeran)

178. Christina Aguilera - The Voice Within

188. Katy Perry - Firework

Twice in ten minutes on the same programme though!?

This is why I'm pretty sure there's deals going on between labels + X Factor/ BGT. Westlife weren't played non-stop throughout X Factor for the quality of their music, after all. And excessive hammering of the same song by Sade over and over? Expect it to be the song of every second audition this year on X Factor too, followed by it being sung in the final.

Mediocre song from Taylor and Ed. Will undoubtedly sound better with time though, could see it being a long-running #3/4 hit.

At least there was some good out of one of my favourite Christina Aguilera songs being ruined by some 10 year old whose voice was quite obviously not strong enough to pull off such a huge song!

YES!!! Massive climb for Taylor and Ed, already matching my prediction of around #30 following the performance! Hopefully it will keep going into the top 10!

This.

But then consider how well mediocre songs/ albums have done this year.

Yay PSY. Hope he can grab at least 1 more week top 40 out of this. 'Gentleman' has actually done a bit better than I expected on the whole, it was obviously never going to come near 'Gangnam Style' but it's not done badly either.
Unfortunately Taylor and Ed are slowing down already, only up to #30 (and #36) in the next update so it looks like I will be about right. Hopefully as radio and TV airplay picks up in the coming weeks, it can still climb to the top 10!

I went to a presentation done by someone from the IFPI, and he said the thing record companies hire most people for at the moment is for synchronisation teams. They're people who go to companies and suggest them songs from the artists on the label to be used in their adverts, video games, TV shows, movies, etc.

I've seen many terrible misspellings of her surname, but 'Sade' just tops them all.

*Sandé :)

Surely being 30 and 36 would already put it between 16-20 combined?

Yeah, that's true. I just want to see one version in the top 10 so it gets the "top 10 effect". :kink:
