Posted July 29, 201312 yr Single & Album Summary Looks like Avicii has got the 3rd week at #1 sewn up, new single releases from Eliza Doolittle, Shy FX/Liam Bailey, AlunaGeorge, Clean Bandit, and the new Pet Shop Boys single "Vocal" which might just sneak in with added physicals and quickly fall away by the end of the week. Le Youth and notably Lana Del Rey vs. Cedric Gervais is aiming for a new peak with her remix version of "Summertime Sadness", which seems to be taking the iTunes chart by storm as there is a demand for the track. The album market has really taken a nose dive in sales recently, and pressure for even lower sales this week, will Jehmene Douglas keep that lead for a second week, unless Jay Z or Robin Thicke return to the top slot. New album releases this week come from AlunaGeorge, Backstreet Boys, Scouting For Girls with their Greatest Hits package, Richard & Adam, Five Finger Death Punch and Jay Sean. The sub title is a little homage to Frances Rufelle, Eliza's mum :D ======================================================= Please note new changes to the Sunday Chart Predictions thread topic: You can still post your own predictions for the week to generate chat to the topic. July 29, 201312 yr Avicii for a third week at number one, hopefully selling about 100/110k *fingers crossed* I can see the top 4 being non movers, Passenger may well climb back into the top 5. The big question for the top 10 will be how high will Lana and Cedric climb? I'm going to predict #7 but I would love top 5! Of the new entries, only Eliza will be guaranteed a hit single! I think it will be midweek #10 ending up at #12. Maybe Clean Bandit could scrape in but it will be close and definetly looking forward to seeing if Disclosure and Rudimental can slip into the top 40, I think they're pretty safe choices!
July 29, 201312 yr Wouldn't be surprised if AlunaGeorge get the number one album, I hope the Backstreet Boys album manages to chart
July 30, 201312 yr The best album of the week is clearly AlunaGeorge, but the #1 is.. wait for it... John Earls @EarlsJohn 27m Big news from the Kill Me Now dept: Richard & Adam are No 1 in the album midweeks. :puke2: Proving that people really will buy ANY OLD SHIT.
July 30, 201312 yr who are richard and adam????? are they some sort of talent show thing or Britain's Got Talent finalists. Most famous for a woman from the orchestra throwing eggs at Simon Cowell during their performance.
July 30, 201312 yr I noticed David Guetta was number one on the itunes album charts earlier, any reason for a boost in sales for an album that's been around for god knows how long
July 30, 201312 yr I noticed David Guetta was number one on the itunes album charts earlier, any reason for a boost in sales for an album that's been around for god knows how long It's been reduced to £3.99 on itunes as part of their Sound Of The Summer promotion. For 30 tracks, it's a really good deal and breaks it down to just 7.5p per track :P .
July 30, 201312 yr Erm, 399/30 = 13.3p per track? I didn't remove the decimal dot, but either way it's pennies.
July 30, 201312 yr Thats quick for Richard and Adam to release an album let alone go to no.1 :o Richard & Adam slaying Gabz from BGT class of 2013. REALLY hope Lana/Cedric go top 5 Sunday officially <3 #1 would be amazing as it's my birthday on Sunday (A girl can dream!)
July 30, 201312 yr wtf are those richard and adam THINGS ha. Bring on Xmas week already  I didn't remove the decimal dot, but either way it's pennies. (Not removing the decimal dot would result in the same number. just sayin' ) Edited July 30, 201312 yr by Conderella
July 30, 201312 yr Simon clearly knows how low sales are and has strategically released all these cover albums now so they look like massive hit albums when really they will struggle to sell 40k in total
July 30, 201312 yr REALLY hope Lana/Cedric go top 5 Sunday officially <3 #1 would be amazing as it's my birthday on Sunday (A girl can dream!) If its current position in iTunes is anything to go by you'll be getting that birthday present  Can't believe yet another Cowell act are number 1 on the albums but I think unlike Jahmene sales for this could be about 40/50k but gutted for AlunaGeorge, fingers crossed for top 5 though
July 30, 201312 yr Called it :P Richard & Adam could potentially sell even less than Jahméne but I knew they'd get the #1. It's kind of funny actually. They're nowhere near as horrific as Jahméne. Fingers crossed AlunaGeorge are #2.
