Leona Lewis AGAIN?!

 

So she won in 2006, was on in 2007, 2008, 2009 (twice), 2011 (final), 2012 and now 2013. Syco need to realise that nobody gives a shit about her these days and stop ramming her down our throats every winter.

She wasn't on at all last season. The fact of the matter is, if SyCo want to keep selling the idea of winning the show as giving a certain level of career/lifestyle/LURE then Leona is the best to do it. It may have been brief, but she has a very strong start to her career and only with the last album has it tailed off. 1D and Olly have probably done better overall but the show isn't going to say 'HEY, WINNING IS A BIT CRAP REALLY, TAKE PART AND AIM TO COME SECOND OR THIRD'.

She performed on the first live show last year with Ne-Yo as far as I remember.

Yeah she was, can't blame John for not remembering that though as the performance wasn't memorable AT ALL (nor have any of her others been).

Oh yeah, oops. I remember thinking she wasn't on the FINAL (which she had been numerous times before). Sorry.

Well since her last album got top 3, I think her fans still give a shit about her. Might not have had the best sales like but to go around claiming no one gives a shit about her is a bit uncalled for haha maybe you don't give a shit about her but don't speak for her fans or others. :)

 

And since she a Christmas album out and she is still simon's act it makes perfect sense to have her performing, It's called promotion every artist does it.

Leona is the most successful artist ever to come from X Factor UK, and trust me, the vast majority of people know who she is (apart from little children who can't remember maybe).

Knowing who she is and caring about her new album is something completely different

Either way, just turn the channel or put it to mute when Leona comes on and problem solved!

 

The snippets of her album are amazing so I think it could do well when released. :wub: Hopefully her performance will have a big production to it.

One Direction have completely blown her out of the water in terms of success. Olly Murs has also been extremely popular for three years while Leona was just in 2007/2008.

Was going to say that. One Direction are BY FAR the biggest X Factor act. Leona Lewis was huge in 2007/2008, but I think One Direction eclipse anything Leona did.

Are people really surprised at Leona still being used on the show? As far as the general public are concerned, Leona IS The X Factor. Whether she's still successful or not and she is EASILY the most successful WINNER of XF. So of course Syco are going to be using her on just about every series they have even moreso the year they're celebrating their 10th year!

 

The likes of One Direction, Olly & Little Mix (although they're not nearly as successful as those three) seem to have shaken off the "X Factor" tags (obviously it's still there, but with those two it's not as predominant as it is when talking about Leona in a conversation for example). If the public were asked to name an X Factor contestant, I'm pretty sure it's Leona who'd come out on top.

I do actually like Leona btw, but it just seems like her entire career consists of an X-Factor performance every winter. She's got an incredible voice and can record beautiful songs and it's just annoying to see her career being wasted. There's other forms of promotion besides XF.

Anyway, completely uninspired choices for the last two weeks. X Factor is so repetitive in everything, including guest slots. Out of all performers this year, only 4 had not performed in the show before (Ellie Goulding; Cher; Mary J Blige; Robin Thicke).

 

So, confirmed for the final so far: Katy Perry and Elton John. Who else you guys think will perform? Last year they had plenty of performers.

I reckon they will get Rihanna to perform on Final she's on pretty much every year . It wouldn't suprise me if One Direction performed again as well.

 

I think Olly has the better career, i understand Leona had huge success with her first album but her success declined thereafter. Olly Murs has managed to remain successful in selling singles and albums and has managed to increase success in countries outside the UK and Ireland and his albums sells consistently. 3 albums in and he has yet to have an under performing album. Right Place, Right Time is about 150,000 short of his previous albums but the announcement of the deluxe killed sales as people are waiting for the deliuxe, he will achieve 2 millions selling albums back to back.

 

That said, i have a feeling Leona's upcoming Christmas album will outsell Glassheart and i think One More Sleep will do very well as single. Luckily i like both artists and i hope both to remain successful but Leona needs to follow up her Christmas album with a new studio album that performs well it remain relevant, otherwise she will end up a Christmas seller only.

She's on Syco's label - of course they'd want to promote her on one of their leading shows whenever she has something to release. Olly has been on there as a guest for the last 4 years, JLS for the last 5 years - why can't Leona? And while radio might not be so hot on her these days, her chart performance suggests otherwise re: people giving a shit about her.
