I think Venus will be the official 2nd single and available as separate download.

Do What U Want has already been confirmed as the 2nd official single.

I guess the OCC won't be changing their mind and Gaga will be missing out on a top 10 hit because of this stupid rule <_<

I wouldn't say it's a stupid rule, it is pretty clear and reasonably fair.

What's stupid is the record company not releasing a separate download track and cancelling the pre-order instant-grat for the track.

A pink fluffy dickie bird flew my way :kink:

So here is a quick top 5 Thursday Mini Update

Singles

1 Lorde 54k

2 James Arthur 44.9k

3 OneRepublic 29.9k

4 Katy Perry 28.1k

5 Showtek 27.8k

Obviously no sign of Lady Gaga, Union J just missing out on the top 5, and Justin Beiber just hanging by a thread inside the top 10.

Albums

1 Katy Perry 35.8k

2 James Blunt 26.9k

3 John Newman 9,1k

4 Arctic Monkeys 6,8k

5 Passenger 6k

Other news in the albums Andrea Begley up to #7, with Andrea Bocelli ahead of her

Any idea if Reconnected have managed to climb into the Top 40 today? They was #42 on Wesnesday.

Edit - Just seen they are still at #42

So Lorde should be around 85k and Arthur 78k. The top 5 should sell 55-60k each which is great but other than the top 2 albums(hope Katy can do 70k) they are sure sales Newman will be lucky to make 18-20k!
Yeah maybe their front loaded sales inevitably slow down and One Rep should be no2 again by tomorrow evening. Wonder if they could be no1 next week? Either that or Fatboy will easily be no1!!

Good to Showtek holding top 5, I hope it stays there for Sunday such a great tune!!

I was expecting higher sales from Lorde and James but there's still 2 days to go! Think Lady Gaga may have to settle for top 15 and I hope Justin isn't top 10 today

It would make my year if Fatboy could get the number 1 next week but I doubt it now though it won't stop me hoping

Midweek Charts update: Perry's Prism shines at retail

Source: MW

by Paul Williams

Katy Perry is set for her second UK No 1 album as the chart-topping single Roar heads back into the top five.

The Virgin-issued Prism had sold more than 40,000 copies up to the end of business on Thursday, according to the Official Charts Company, giving it a lead of around 10,000 units over Atlantic/Custard act James Blunt's Moon Landing at No 2 on midweek artist albums.

Prism should follow 2010's Teenage Dream in reaching No 1 for Perry, while her track Roar has moved 6-4 on midweek singles after she performed it on The X Factor results show on ITV last Sunday.

Island act John Newman's Tribute, which debuted at No 1 last Sunday, drops to 3 in the latest Sales Flashes, while there are brand new entries from Decca's Andrea Bocelli and Capitol's The Voice 2013 winner Andrea Begley in the Top 10.

New Zealander Lorde's Virgin single Royals is leading singles by a fairly comfortable margin ahead of Syco act James Arthur's You're Nobody 'Til Somebody Loves You at No 2 as OneRepublic's Interscope/Polydor-issued Counting Stars drops 1-3. Besides Lorde and Arthur's efforts, two other brand new tracks register aong the Top 10 positions from Polydor's EDM act Showtek with We Are Loud and Sonny Wilson and RCA's Union J respectively.

NO SALES INFO

I noticed Union J have slipped out of itunes top 10, i wonder have they done enough to get that official top 10 on Sunday now or will they end up at the very annoying number 11?
With numbers 9-12 so close, I don't think they'll fall 4 places from Friday to Sunday.

I'm pretty sure they'll cling on at #9 or so.

That's not such a bad result for them though, I thought they didn't have a cat in hell's chance at top 10 before this week.

I hear that Lady GaGa will be rushing out 'Venus' as a Single - very soon.

This one will be allowed to Chart, as it will not be an 'Instant Grat'.

The OCC say you can only have 1 'Instant Grat' per Album, & she's

already had her 1st with 'Applause'.

But, I personally don't think her new Songs are as good as her previous

ones. She seems to have concentrated less on melody, & more on using

electronics to alter her voice. A mistake.

Katy's doing better than I expected actually

So happy that Andrea Belgey has risen a few places from the Wednesday midweek and hopefully she'll stay top 10.
