The Storm Queen song is HUGE. Like it or not it's kinda the perfect example of "cool" music today.

Feels like I've been hearing it for years. Cant believe its only just been officially released.

Sure, those who write their own lyrics and use pleasant vocals score highly, Miley Cyrus, Lady GaGa, Katy Perry, Adele and Lana del Rey, Vanessa Carlton + Nerina Pallot too.

And Britney hasn't? Pressed.

That Little Mix song has kinda grown on me. It still sounds like a mess to me though

Britney for top 5 please *fingers crossed*

I doubt even a top 5 placing will get radio on board for Work Bitch; I wonder why they didn't give it a chance?

maybe a sign that "our" popstars should put out stronger singles then :kink:

(although tbf that Little Mix song is quite a jam~)

The Storm Queen song has been around since 2010, but was released in the UK in 2011 - haven't heard the MK Remix yet but iTunes lists it as just 2:28. :o

Britney is still a huge name, but commercially her star has fallen a long, long way in the UK. It's not that surprising she wasn't playlisted.

The original MK remix was 5:52, but MoS shortened it for UK buyers/radio stations. The 5:52 version is available to download, as part of the remixes EP

A classic chicken/egg situation - if radio hadn't dumped her, then her star probably wouldn't have fallen...

Where is Geri Halliwell "Half Of Me" ?

Battlling OUR TEENAH for the crucial no.89562385608756 position, obvs.

426. Katy B - I Like You

This is the B-side to '5 AM' - what's the rule for B-sides and chart eligibility?

I hope that Luke Sital-Singh song does well. It's insanely beautiful.

It's not available in the UK.

I swear the thread isn't normally as dire as so far today?

Or perhaps the new entries aren't normally as dire as they are today?

The Storm Queen song is, as someone mentioned earlier, a commercial example of what music is most popular with young people right now: house. If you went to any house party, "pre drinks" or cooler club nights this weekend, guaranteed that most of the music played would be house.
