Biography

Leona Louise Lewis (born 3 April 1985) is a British singer and songwriter. Lewis was born in London Borough of Islington and first came to prominence after winning the third series of The X Factor in 2006. She has sold over 20 million records worldwide, more than any other contestant from The X Factor.

Her debut album, Spirit, was released in 2007, and sold over eight million copies worldwide. The album's most best selling single, "Bleeding Love", reached number one in over 30 countries around the world, and was the best-selling single worldwide in 2008. She was proclaimed 'Top New Artist' by Billboard magazine in 2008. Lewis released her second album, Echo, in 2009. Her debut tour, The Labyrinth, took place in 2010. Her third album Glassheart was released 12 October 2012. It was preceded by the single "Collide", which became her seventh top-five hit in the UK. With the release of Hurt: The EP and "Trouble", Lewis has had nine top-ten hits in the UK.

Lewis is a seven time Brit Awards and three time Grammy Awards nominee. With her expansive vocal range and powerful, emotive ballads, Lewis has been compared to her idol Whitney Houston. As of 2013, Lewis is the best selling The X Factor act in the United Kingdom, as well as being the UK-born female soloist with most weeks at number one in the UK. - Wikipedia

Highest Xmas song on the chart. :cheer: So happy with how well this has done.
Burn: ...-18-17-23-26-33-27-17-28-28-32-38-18

WMU: ...-17-21-20-24-29-33-18-24-27-27-27-17

OMG. That's amazing. So in three weeks time, 'Burn' will be reclimbing up to #17, with 'Wake Me Up' at #18? :P

Still don't "get" 'Royals' and its popularity at ALL. (Thankfully it's been nowhere near as successful as it has been elsewhere - but still too successful)

No re-entry for "Get Lucky" or "La La La", what a shame. At least the likes of Ellie Goulding and Avicii are benefitting greatly from gift cards; "Burn" really has become a huge hit for Goulding (and the latest single is still selling well within the T10!)

I thought that these two will easily go back to top 40 :o

Pleased to see Lorde's climb there! And yay for Leona, judging by previous years sales I guess she might have shifted 35-40k this week. Around 130k isn't a bad opening tally for an original Xmas song at all, hopefully it will build sales and come back every year!
It's left the top 40 on itunes now so I think this will be its last week :( Big fall next week :(

What did you honestly expect?!

Prob the last Xmas song we will hear on radio this yr, we will hear it on mtvs top 40 rundowns until Sunday 5th as well lol!!

Should have sold around 30k this week I'd say at no15

I'm not surprised she was top 4 on iTunes till Tuesday/ Wednesday.

I was thinking she would get taken over quickly with the gift card effect, but looks like she built up a decent lead to negate that. :D

Leona loons are happy now. :D

If it does we should keep a tally of its sales so we know when it reaches a million in 2035 lol

Biography

Surpassing the achievements of One Direction and JLS by becoming the first group to win The X Factor in the U.K., four-piece girl band Little Mix were one of the few success stories to emerge from the underperforming and controversial eighth season. Jade Thirlwall (who had auditioned for two previous series) and Perrie Edwards (both from South Shields), Jesy Nelson (from Romford, East London), and Leigh-Anne Pinnock (from High Wycombe) had all originally auditioned as solo artists, but like fellow acts Nu Vibe and the Risk, were put together as a group at the boot-camp stages. After impressing Jessie J and mentor N-Dubz's Tulisa Contostavlos at Judges' House, they made it to the live finals, where their engaging personalities, girl-next-door image, and contemporary song choices saw them outgrow their initial underdog status. Originally known as Rhythmix, the girls were forced to change their moniker in week four after it was revealed that there was already a Brighton-based children's charity of the same name. But following stellar performances of En Vogue's "Don't Let Go," Katy Perry's "E.T.," and Rihanna's "Don't Stop the Music," they beat the Conway Sisters and Hope's previous record to become the first girl band in the show's history to make it past week seven. After contributing to the high-profile M&S TV ad campaign and the finalists' charity cover version of Rose Royce's "Wishing on a Star," they eventually went on to triumph over Marcus Collins in the final. Their debut single, a rendition of Damien Rice's 2003 hit "Cannonball," went on to top the charts but scored the lowest first-week sales by an X Factor winner since Steve Brookstein's "Against All Odds" in 2004, and was later beaten to the coveted Christmas number one spot by the Military Wives Choir. Their debut album, DNA, featuring the singles "Cannonball," "Wings," and the title track, was released in late 2012. - iTunes

Album Discussion Here

Aw, I'd hoped 'Move' would climb a bit more - beaten by 'Roar' of all things.
What did you honestly expect?!

Well I knew it would fall but I though maybe another week top 40 since it only fell 12 places. Oh well.

It's left the top 40 on itunes now so I think this will be its last week :( Big fall next week :(

Considering all the other xmas tunes are out of itunes top 200 now including mariah and the pogues shows it is still holding up well and getting 'some' sales. Quite promising sign of it reappearing again for future xmas' as the public obviously do like the song itself. Very pleased it managed to stay top 15. I was expecting between 20-25.

Move!!!!! One of the best songs this year, still sounds great.

Jonjo, we saw the link the first time, no need to keep spamming it ~ (also stay mad re: Lorde)

Yay for 'Move' re-entering top 15 nonetheless. Definitely cemented itself as one of my favourite songs of the year now
