March 2, 201412 yr Either everybody thinks this is amazing or there is just nothing good enough out there to keep him off the top spot!! :o

March 2, 201412 yr I'm really not a fan of Happy, but am glad it got to #1 again just because of that record...
March 2, 201412 yr Pharrell slaying everyone's faves again *.* Joining Frankie Laine and Guy Mitchell in the list of people to have returned to #1 twice!
March 2, 201412 yr Given that both of the previous '3 runs at #1s' (ignoring 'Three Lions' here) were prior to 1969, it could maybe be said that this is the first ever song to *undisputedly* have 3 separate runs at #1, though I don't know what the 'alternative' charts have to say about 'I Believe' and 'Singing The Blues'.
March 2, 201412 yr I don't like the song very much but congrats pharell that added slice of history achievement is quite the phenomenon. 57 years :o Edited March 2, 201412 yr by Rob!
March 2, 201412 yr Looks like Scott will have time to play a prediction track - Route 94 :D Or maybe just let Dan and Phil start early  :P
March 2, 201412 yr Either everybody thinks this is amazing or there is just nothing good enough out there to keep him off the top spot!! :o Well he's been kept off #1 on 6 occasions since he first got there so... :P His sales have been consistently big enough for this to not just be written off as a case of a lack of competition IMO. Even if it was, to still have strong enough sales to top the chart nine weeks after he did the first time is still impressive.
March 2, 201412 yr A couple of songs have done it, wait for Suedey's chart commentary for details :D Thanks for the plug! It's just as well I didn't simply mention it in passing

Hooray for Wild Beasts hanging onto the top 10! And interesting that Reverend & The Makers are continuing an upwards trend with their album positions since the low point of their 2nd album, though I doubt 'ThirtyTwo' is likely to outsell '@Reverend_Makers'.
March 2, 201412 yr He has done it. Here are 2 charts when a third stint at #1 happened first with a Joint #1 second with a Number 1 solo. 2nd February 1957 1= ( 1 ) Frankie Vaughan - The Garden Of Eden ( 4 Wks) 1= ( 2 ) Guy Mitchell - Singing The Blues ( 9 Wks) / Frankie can't have had three separate stints at the top in only 4 weeks, as he would need at least 2 weeks offs the top to make them separate. I think it's just that his tied week is listed separately in order to make the tie clear, rather than it being a separate stint.
March 2, 201412 yr A 5-week gap between a song returning to #1 is quite a lot, surely? That's in the commentary as well :D
March 2, 201412 yr A 5-week gap between a song returning to #1 is quite a lot, surely? Wrecking Ball managed a 9 week gap last year in the US thanks to a random streaming boost, but yeah under a purely sales-driven chart, this is really impressive!
March 2, 201412 yr Also updated the first album chart post with Beyoncé claiming a 5th top 100 hit on the singles chart from 'BEYONCÉ', in the form of 'Partition' entering at #90. Frankie can't have had three separate stints at the top in only 4 weeks, as he would need at least 2 weeks offs the top to make them separate. I think it's just that his tied week is listed separately in order to make the tie clear, rather than it being a separate stint. It's Guy Mitchell that had the 3rd stint at #1, not Frankie Vaughan :P

March 2, 201412 yr I actually got angry when Happy came on in a club last night lmao. Such a f***ing awful song!
