I would say their Ep/cd single signings will just help them make the top 40?! Streams will destroy them though as only really popular songs seem to do well on that format.

No-one has really discussed the No1 this week it could be close between Magic & Nico IMO with streams deciding things?!

Think Nico & Vinz should take it reasonably comfortably. They'll ship far more downloads & there won't be much more than a few thousand steaming points in MAGIC!'s favour I think.

I guess it'll help if the cherry-picking from the Greatest Hits album helps them or not, or if it just creates a worse situation where both versions end up disappearing due to less visibility.

'What Are You Waiting For' (album) is actually album-only so if anyone's interrested, they will either buy the entire Greatest Hits or just buy the single.

It's a smart move.

Kylie Minogue 'I Believe In You' #154 + #216

Would love to see this back in the Top 100 this week, but think it might get pushed out with streaming.

I'm still pretty gobsmacked that this only sold 150k (or whatever it is)! It felt huge at the time and it peaked at #2?

Was it just the case of sales that year then?

I heard that song in an advert the other day, I assume that's why it's back in the charts?

150,000 is very good sales for a song released in 2004 (you could be in the year-end top 10 with 250,000).

Yeh its on an ad for a bank i think, its on all the time. It was her biggest hit since CGYOOMH imo!
I think the main reason they are struggling to get airplay is because they have become so generic since 2011. 'Up', 'Issues', 'Ego' and 'Higher' are all great pop songs and have more wide appeal when compared to 'Not Giving Up' and 'What Are You Waiting For?'.

I actually agree. as much as it pains me to do so :(

I've seen some people saying it's cause R1 are ageist in the way acts affect their demographic but that wouldn't make sense since The Saturdays appeal to 10-30? year olds.

The real answer is after Living For The Weekend's flop, nobody will get behind them any more. I do thoroughly believe 'Gentleman' is what really done it for them, although 'Disco Love' was an impressive recovery considering it wasn't enough to quite save them/that album.

I have to say though, it has outdone what I was expecting by far at this point!

Radio 1 played the shit out of Disco Love so that's not the reason.

It was only b-listed at the time though.

Not at the time. They randomly started playing a few months after and keep playing it a couple of times a week now. It's random though because they then stopped supporting them after Disco Love.

Unfortunately for Kylie, the majority of her Parlaphone singles were released when sales were low, so even her well known songs were lucky to pass 200k.

'I Believe in You' was particularly affected, with it being #3 with just 7k sales in the first week of 2005! :drama:

Sigma and Paloma Faith - Changing is now on Spotify! Will be interesting to see if this gets close to the chart before it's release through streaming sales!

It would probably have to hit No1-3 in the streaming chart to break the top 40 before release.

It will be interesting to see if they bring the release date forward if it's does well on streaming?
