How exactly does one cover an instrumental?

He did a mash up, using Massive Attacks 'Unfinished Sympathy' with Moko doing the vocals.

It was stunning, best cover I've heard for a long time!!

Yeah I guess if it's the same file, then I guess it identifies as an iTunes product

I believe, even with pre-orders (say a song has been released elsewhere and you illegally download it pre-release), it gives the option to 'play' rather than 'pre-order'. It's bizarre, but yeah it will recognise it as a purchased track!

I've downloaded a couple tracks before because the tagging on YouTube was a mess and it'll think you already own it. I've had to delete my copy to purchase some songs before

It was Zanes hottest record last night so it got a spin on Fearnes show today too -lovely track!

Wow Sams 2nd version is top 30 now - up to 58% and in the top 5!
It's a shame that Jay-Z - What More Can I Say isn't in the top 1500, it was featured in Dynamo: Magician Impossible last night.

can't see this being a contender myself. It doesn't sound like a big hit to me. Wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't even go top 40 but I hope it does

Anyway Bang Bang is out that week which will easily go to #1.

The next few #1s are very predictable actually, Blame, Changing, Bang Bang, All About That Bass x2, Guts Over Fear are my predictions for the next 6 weeks.

I don't think All About That Bass will have enough staying power to last 2 weeks. Think Anaconda might knock it off.

I've got a feeling that Blame will be #2 for some reason but I could be wrong, Ten Walls is looking like a contender next week as well. I hope Bang Bang doesn't go to #1 but of course it will.

Pre-Orders are really killing the excitement of the charts at the moment, I wish there were no pre-orders at all and that songs just get added to iTunes on the day of release. I miss seeing songs climb from #1325 at midnight to #1 several hours later.

I really hope "Anaconda" isn't Nicki Minaj's first UK number-one. It's good fun, sure, but worthy of #1 status, no way. Saying that, I've just realised that "Bang Bang" is likely to become her first number-one, ha.

Team Calvin on Sunday though, "Blame" is great and the way the release has been handled deserves to do well and show record labels how it's done. I reckon it'll be a long-running hit regardless of whether it hits the summit or not though, "Summer" has done VERY well on streaming.

I actually think it's promotion campaign has been quite questionable.

I saw an advert on TV about a week ago saying to pre-order the song. Paying loads of money to get an advert on TV just to pre-order a song which hadn't even been premiered in full seems very strange to me. Kind of reminds me of Born This Way in the sense that it was on air, on sale but had a pre-release campaign even greater than some held back songs. They obviously desperately want it to debut at #1, and I wouldn't be surprised if the song has a chart run like Summer tbh.

I haven't actually heard the song though, so if it's good I don't mind it getting #1. But if all songs are going to be promoted like this in the future it's going to be no different to how it was before tbh.

It'll be her second ;) (after Bang Bang)

Funny how she's properly been on the scene for about four years now and has featured on about six million different songs, yet has never had a number one, and now she's likely to get two in the space of a few weeks.

I am finding that with the pre orders. Just takes away any form of surprise. I think they are a great idea but I wish apple wouldn't include them in their download chart until they are available for sale. They have no reason to do this I know as it does gain pre orders more exposure, but as a chart fan it makes it a very dull chart. I would rather not like to know what will be #1 in 3 weeks time . I can focus on that song on that week.
