Amazing to see Hudson Mohawke's EP doing so well! So sad when it DNQ'd back in BJSC 67 :(

I hope Take Shelter gets a re-release, it deserves to be a hit

EP's don't seem to get to #1 anymore like they used to on a weekly basis in 2012.

That's because most singles now have a single pre-order, either instead of, or alongside an EP pre-order. A lot of the time now, the EP is just a Remixes bundle with the single version released as a standalone single without appearing on the EP at all!

I don't know why artists stopped releasing singles in that format with the main track part of the EP. Everyone should follow Shift K3y's example with his single "touch", it was a surprise when I saw the radio edit version at #3.

 

The sales would surely be higher through this method?

There's nothing to prove which has higher sales. The individual single, however, makes the song appear higher up the chart quicker, therefore giving it more exposure, for a lower price also to encourage more pre-orders.

Im happy to see a thousand years back in the charts, this stint will hopefully get it well over platinum status given Christina Perri second platinum selling single.

major ouchness for DJ Fresh :( Flashlight is far better than Make U Bounce so it's sad to see it underperforming so much when that could make top 10. I guess MUB really killed this era's momentum, plus the fact that Flashlight is on Ellie's album of course

Such a shame that Unmissable is gonna flop, it's one of my favourite songs of the whole year.

Such a shame that there's potential for a lot of new entries this week in the top 40 but streaming will probably cut that from 6-7 to 3-4 :(

 

Can't believe The Magician is at 8!! I was hoping for a top 20 but this is amazing though sadly I think streaming will push this out of the top 10 next week :cry:
