Jameela does all her facts to death. Even when some of them are no longer facts.

After all, it's no fun hearing correct facts constantly :kink:

10k for U2. Not bad for an album they gave away for free to apple customers. Makes you think how many copies they would of sold if they'd have released it normally.

Probably about 10K, only the fanbase are interested.

Sounds quite unlikely considering all of the songs on both of Adele's albums are self-written (apart from the covers obviously) :P

I imagine her US label would be trying to push all these songs from other songwriters they have in their library onto Adele. She would just be unlikely to actually use any of them so the idea sounds legit enough.

Out of curiosity has any song ever tied exact copies? I know there were tying positions decades ago but if there were ties would OCC announce it?
Charli.

Mot devastating flop of the year for me.

Could be much worse to be fair, she could be in Nicole's position right now.

I am worried about how well Big Fat Lie will do.

Tied exact copies happen all the time, they have an extremely convoluted and confusing way to deal with it. I recommend not looking it up because it makes no sense.

So much for Anaconda being #1 last Tuesday

Never known such a highly anticipated pre-order slip so low after release other than boy bands like 5SOS...

Yes Daniel Powter's "Bad Day" and "Doctor Pressure" by Mylo Vs Miami Sound Machine both sold 17,257 copies in 2005 one week. Powter got the higher chart place because Daniel Powter had a really bad day and they thought it might cheer him up.

So say two songs put at e.g. 40 and 41 could have the same copies for example but OCC just chooses a random one to be a top 40 single? Not fair! <_<

Is there any info on where Stevie Nicks album has fallen? :(

It was only at #1 because of front loaded pre-orders. I think most of the anticipation died out before the release which is why it dropped.

They'd probably pick the one that was lower of the 2 the week before.

I preferred it when they gave the higher position to the one that had increased the most/decreased the least from the previous week. That way, a climber would be given an extra boost over a song that was fading - but if you had 2 new entries selling the same then that wouldn't work of course.

That still isn't fair! :(

I agree :)

That isn't what they do. It goes down to 'fractional sales', which was a vaguely understandable concept in the days of physicals but I'm not sure how it's still a thing in the download era.

'fractional sales'

Please define :P

Even in the pre-internet era I don't understand

As I said, it's something convoluted and confusing. I've never understood it properly myself.

I'll try as best I can if you know if there's a site on it :P
