Y'all are just JEALOUS of Mariah sleighing lesser artists. Occasionally, out of the Christmas spirit in her, she'll let them ahead, she's being quite generous to The Pogues on sales although her grip on streaming is tight *.*

@Haus: I really like both songs!!11 Pogues significantly more so that said as it's my favourite festive song, but they both fulfill the 'classy' and 'cheesy' sides that Christmas songs need. I do sometimes wish some more Christmas songs would chart as high as those two though, Greg Lake's I Believe In Father Christmas and Mike Oldfield's In Dulce Jubilo should be smashing every year :(

Mariah Carey - ruining the festive season since 1994.

I've never understood why a Halloween song came to be one of the supposed 'Christmas classics'... especially when it's much more of a HORROR than 'Thriller' or 'Ghostbusters'.

Leona Lewis - saving the festive season since 2013.
Leona is the only one who could change the festive season to ' 2 to #97 :cheer:' ad infinitum for 6 weeks. :heehee:

I wish that Saint Etienne's 1993 festive tune "I Was Born On Christmas Day" was better known, I think I've heard it once out shopping in December in about a decade. :(

I really like both too, but Mariah significantly more. Together we can end this war!

'Warm This Winter' is a favourite of mine that doesn't pop up every year (the Cilmi version in particular).

The Pogues are just quietly waiting in the wings letting Mariah have a false sense of security before later in December they POUNCE INTO RELEVANCE and SLEIGH her in the week that actually matters i.e. Christmas Chart Week ~~~

Despite Mariah being #1 on streaming last year and The Pogues only #6 (I think) :heehee: Mariah, Queen of Streaming *.*

She didn't do the original?

There's a version from the 60s and then the 80s from Connie Francis apparently. I believed Cilmi's to be the original for a while too :o

I adore her version though

I agree, I love this and we've had it on our Christmas playlist where I work in store!

As long as The Pogues continue to climb I'll be happy

Take That  3 (also #31)

Pleased to see These Days holding up so well - Thought it might drop quickly with everyone switching to buying the album instead.

Listen To The Man  25

Another top 40 hit for George then... YAY!

It needs to be more than just Top 40, it's fast becoming my favourite single of his! I'm hoping it's gonna be one of those songs that just steadily climbs and climbs and then takes advantage of a quiet sales period in the new year to go Top 10 :)

Big increases for all 3 of The Pogues' versions in the latest update - maybe something to do with the poll I posted about in the other thread?
