December 11, 201411 yr How did Ella drop 10>17 in midweeks when she hasn't moved on iTunes? Streaming data for Sunday was missing in the Tuesday midweeks but was added for Wednesday's, and that made a significant difference.

December 11, 201411 yr Union J at #19 in the albums seems very low, especially after an acceptable result in the singles last week. I wonder how much is the album going to sell for the week. 2nd place = 'acceptable'. LOL. what would be 3rd place called then? FLOP? 4th place? ARTPOP? 5th place? JADE EWEN AKA BIGGEST FLOP OF ALL TIMES?
December 11, 201411 yr Union J second era started so well, and then the album position comes in, in what month did their debut chart, as if it was a lower sales climate the new album may match its opening sales although on a much lower debut.

December 11, 201411 yr Masses of promo and events, XFactor performance, UnionJ now #4 on Radio airplay chart (5500 spins in last 30 days)-- and the single and album sales continue to drop like a stone a few days after release. Sony must pull their hair out with this band.
December 11, 201411 yr Amazing its stormed to no.1 in a very short space of time, very happy that it has its the best song thats come out in a long time, of the year I'd almost go as far to say. Dread to think how much it would have sold in its first week if it had been held back for another month, it already had a healthy number of pre-orders plus the gift card effect would have added some extra sales. I think it would have easily done 200k+ if its original release date had been kept. Shame it won't beat X Factor, but I really hope it does it would be great to see them finally get beaten good and proper by an actual popular track.
December 11, 201411 yr Like some other huge hits, blurred lines, happy and get lucky this has no appeal to me at all.
December 11, 201411 yr @MintRoyale Uptown Funk will definitely be number 1 this week, but sales are slowing a lot. Not convinced it’ll stay there till Christmas. Can somebody tweet Neil and inform him that pre-orders will have massively skewed the daily sales on Tuesday of the track, and that its sales probably aren't actually slowing that much. Irregardless, it obviously won't be #1 for Christmas because of X-Factor. I expect a 1-2-2-1 type chart run depending on the popularity of the winner, if it is practically zero like for Sam Bailey then it might be 1-2-1-1-.. Edited December 11, 201411 yr by Doctor Blind
December 11, 201411 yr For those of you who don't want X Factor to be Xmas #1, just don't buy the song. Simple
December 11, 201411 yr For those of you who don't want X Factor to be Xmas #1, just don't buy the song. Simple Yah... but surely people will buy Fleur East's winners track, if the track is more accessible than the dross of rock ballads e,g, Skyscraper -_-
December 11, 201411 yr I think how 'Skyscraper' performed was more a testimony to Sam Bailey's actual popularity (or lack thereof) rather than the track itself. Let's face it, all of the winner's singles are all interchangeable cheaply done karaoke ballad cover versions anyway. It makes no difference.
December 11, 201411 yr I liked Sam Baileys version of skyscrapper, thankfully her album has done half ok and is not the worst selling X Factor winners album. Previous winners such as Joe, Steve and Leon won with far bigger viewing figures and sold less and that is not taking into consideration the re-release. I had thought, Sam Baileys album would be easily top 40 this week. Edited December 11, 201411 yr by pippa
December 11, 201411 yr For those of you who don't want X Factor to be Xmas #1, just don't buy the song. Simple I will definitely not be supporting x factor. I can't stand it and think its about time they stopped releasing dreary cover versions every Christmas as it spoils the excitement of Christmas number one.
December 11, 201411 yr BTW why no XF Finalists single this year? Can't remember if we had one last year or not.
December 11, 201411 yr BTW why no XF Finalists single this year? Can't remember if we had one last year or not. There hasn't been one since 2011. They gave up on it as its sales were rapidly declining year on year and the winner's single is now for charity instead.
