This song doesn't do anything for me it's just .. meh   Plus Kelly Clarkson looks like a tellytubby I can't take that bitch seriously anymore

  • Here's the 1978 Chart rundown courtesy of Simon Bates and the BBC

Bloodstream is good, but I'm pleased that Hold My Hand is number one again.
Oh, wow yay at Circa Waves doing a Catfish in the end and hanging on to the top 10, their album is a lot weaker though really which is a bit disappointing.
Good news: not many of the albums from the Wednesday mids had dropped out, so my chart prep wasn't as much of a waste of time as expected!

Bad news: Hollywood Undead weren't there on Wednesday so had to go rush to prepare it just now. :D

Wow for Sufjan Stevens remaining as high as #6! Quite pleasing to see Circa Waves remaining top 10 as well, could do similarly to Catfish And The Bottlemen in the long run. And woo for Death Cab For Cutie picking up a third top 30 album, could possibly have been a third straight #24 on sales alone?!

Good news: I correctly anticipated which albums wouldn't make it.

Bad news: I, too, hadn't expected Hollywood Undead to be in.

Really good news: I only did one version of the singles chart commentary and guessed the number one correctly :D

Have Rudimental just added a bit of drum and bass over this? How pointless.

Well, finally hearing the Rudimental version of 'Bloodstream' - and it's not really any better or any worse than the album version. It's barely any different. (Which is good really as I'm still loving the song so at least they won't be playing an inferior version from now on! :P)

Glad to hear Jess stayed for a second week, phew!!!! :drama: sales must be very close. Hopefully get sales tonight, but don't hold your breath over them.

Back later...

Rudimental's version is getting some kind of hyper
I think I prefer the original acoustic version of Bloodstream, the dance remix doesn't really add anything to it. Nonetheless, it's the best Ed Sheeran song ever comfortably.

Yes, and they'll be adding some jungle and/or D&B beats to a new mediocre track in the Top 40 each week in 2015. Next week it's "Lay Me Down" getting the Rudimental treatment and getting that ICONIC to re-climb to #2.

:D Only because you want the #1 to change every week - not for any music-related preference?

It's nice to see a new #1 each week. He only missed #1 because a lot of people already have the song on his album

Considering that version has a drum & bass beat accelerating all over the chorus, it's bizarre how little difference it makes to the song.

Or maybe it will be counted as a new version and we'll have Lay Me Down three times in the chart? :kink:

I've generally been fairly indifferent to most of his songs. This is the first one I've really liked.

Glad Jess Glynne stayed put. The song has really grown on me.

It's boring to see a new number each week. A mix of 1 weekers and longer runners is better.

No real excuses for Ed, he missed number 1 as more people bought and streamed Jess Glynne.

All you radio 1 chart countdown fans, make sure to listen out for the one hit wonders one they're scheduling tomorrow (Appropriate discussion here: http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=176513). Yes promo etc.

Well done Jess! Interesting to see if Stevie McCrorie will overthrow her next week.

Just two amendments to the album chart posts this week, as James Bay's 'Let It Go' hits another new peak of #52, as well as obviously 'Bloodstream' climbing to #2.
Well done Jess! Interesting to see if Stevie McCrorie will overthrow her next week.

If not him, then Nick Jonas to overthrow Jess Glynne

Shame I missed it this week, that's best start to a chart in AGES. First 5 tracks are all fantastic!

The fact Stay With Me was #41 made it even better :cheer:
