Ever since Deorro & Chris Brown got to #1 the gap between them and Jason Derulo has just been widening non-stop with every update. Five More Hours should definitely get #1 on the sales chart on Sunday but probably streaming will keep Derulo at #1 on the combined chart.

The gap looks quite large, but given the low sales at the moment it is probably only around 800-1000 copies per day.

A deficit that is more than made up by the higher streaming of “Want To Want Me”, as shown by the midweeks where it was able to make up a 1.7K lead that Deorro & Chris Brown had on Tuesday in just 1 day. It wouldn't surprise me if the sales #1 this week dips below 40,000.

David Zowie also has a streaming advantage at the moment.

Bit mad that Years & Years and Fifth Harmony aren't available on Spotify, but it's probably due to some dodgy contract with iTunes and visibility on their front page. Gotta cling to those dying download sales at all costs, eh?

I really hope 'Black Magic' gets added to Spotify a couple weeks before its official release. I'm not saying streaming will cost Little Mix the #1 position, but it would nice to have as much advantage as possible.

The songs that get added to UK Spotify before download release are usually big worldwide #1s or dance/house records, no? So I'm not surprised 5H and LM aren't available to stream yet.

Essentially any artist (usually UK based) who wants to maximise their entry position - but hasn't quite realised that you need at least a couple of weeks on streaming sites ahead of the 'on sale' date to build momentum. It definitely backfired for LunchMoney Lewis whose second week streaming position (#6 from #39) would have more than made up the deficit he saw the week that “Bills” debuted at 2, but it is amusing to observe record companies continue to get it wrong.

I'm still waiting for streaming 'pre-orders' to appear.

I don't think Little Mix need to be added to Spotify early - they'll surely be #1 anyway. They've probably already picked up over a dozen k in pre orders as the song has basically been top 100 for 3 weeks solid.
Great to see Trap Queen rise to the top 10, nothing like a slow burner!!
Britney down to 12 now, I'm surprised to see that the song hasn't held up as well as Zedd and Selena did last week. I'm not a big lover of the song and I didn't think it'd do amazingly but I'm shocked it's not even really going to be in the fight for a top ten official placing now

But surely it makes sense to put it on Spotify early, build its streams up before its official iTunes release, which should help maximise its potential first week 'chart sales' and beyond.

You would think - it's the same question we've been asking ourselves about practically every release.

Having the song available to stream isn't going to stop those that want to download the track from downloading it. You only have to look at songs like All About That Bass and Cheerleader to see they have done just fine on downloads. How we can be almost a year into the inclusion of streams into the chart and record companies still haven't grasped how it all works is beyond me.

They're probably not the best examples to compare 'Pretty Girls' with though. But I do agree, streaming is clearly the way forward and record companies need to focus on that rather than thinking held back download releases with no streaming before hand still works in today's market.

AATB & Cheerleader are two of the biggest hits of the past year, they were always destined to do well on all formats.

If streaming increases with the addition of apple in the coming months i wonder if the occ will have to change the sales ratio soon enough?

I never understand this, surely if streaming represents a greater part of the chart that's fair and correct because it comes from streaming simply being more popular?

27. Lost Frequencies - Are You With Me

41. Tinie Tempah Feat Jess Glynne - Not Letting Go

73. Little Mix - Black Magic

82. David Zowie - House Every Weekend.

118. Flo Rida Feat Robin Thicke - I Don't Like It I Love It [i'm surprised this isn't getting pushed back a couple of weeks tbh]

122. Charlie Puth Feat Meghan Trainor - Marvin Gaye [incredible this has remained top 150 despite no radio airplay yet]

125. Sam Feldt Feat Kimberley Ann - Show Me Love

128. Years & Years - Shine

47. Daytuner - Are You With Me

I think this might be a fake version of the Lost Frequencies song, it will be interesting to see how high this goes in the next few days.

Of course it is you doughnut. and so is your BJ account, really getting tired of reading your incessant dumb posts. Say hi to your twin brother MC Delroy from me. :D

Flo Rida/Robin Thicke doesn't need pushing back any further, got plenty of hype around it now. Only thing its missing is a video. Can (hopefully) see it sticking around too.

Robin Thicke back to save the charts.
