July 8, 201511 yr Huge amounts of streaming data is missing - that doesn't help Years & Years' case though as they are WAY behind “House Every Weekend” on streaming services (it having been released well in advance of the digital release). Kind of a big lesson to be learnt for Polydor in terms of holding back the streaming, you've just cost yourselves a number 1!! In that case Shine could actually end up at #3. Shocking, since they have had a 20% lead on iTunes all week. I didn't think streaming would have its usual impact without the weekend effect.
July 8, 201511 yr I don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet but Nathan Sykes apparently sold minus 297 copies yesterday. Lots of returns from unsatisfied customers?
July 8, 201511 yr Short week chart gave this lose to y&y. SHAME. I don't know if the weekend could've helped Years & Years, as Zowie's streaming is much better. Shame though I like Years & Years but not their best.

Maybe.. but I think you're wrong.. It's so stupid, they were never even near the top 2 (!!!) on ITunes... so number 1 officially? Whatever... Next week Y&Y got the album chart for sure at least.
July 8, 201511 yr Zowie WAS #2 in iTunes for most of the period. If the higher version isn't there it doesn't mean it's not there combined. But it's still very surprising with such a healthy lead on iTunes.

'Worth It', 'Are You With Me', 'House Every Weekend', 'Shut Up And Dance' and any of the other current hits with early Spotify releases, nowhere to be seen. This even applies to all 54 songs under See All. Surely not a coincidence?

Next week Y&Y got the album chart for sure at least. It's been #2 combined on iTunes all week, it has had fairly sizeable pre-orders. Pretty obvious it was most likely to be #1 IMO, I was surprised Y&Y got to the #1 but given it only takes about 6K/day on iTunes it doesn't really suggest that much.

It is quite pathetic IMO and I hope Apple and the record companies that CAVE to their threats suffer because of it (as is happening this week :D )
July 8, 201511 yr I like the word Friday in the thread title now. That feel when you finish the week from school/college/work or whatever and you can sit back, relax and enjoy the chart show  Yeah Sunday was the "day of rest" but Monday is usually the day where people begin a week of workload (just ask Garfield) but now it is Friday you can look forward to streaming/buying some amazing tunes on the Weekend :music:
July 8, 201511 yr The midweeks are so not in shape (see those negative sales for Nathan), that I could imagine the top-3 (and even top-4 with Lost Frequencies) being in any order on Friday.

It is quite pathetic IMO and I hope Apple and the record companies that CAVE to their threats suffer because of it (as is happening this week :D ) Oh that's interesting! There is *SO much* advertisement for Y&Y on the front page of iTunes this week. I guess the record company thought that would benefit the song more than streaming early. http://s21.postimg.org/66z9fawzr/image.jpg http://s3.postimg.org/u01z6o0bn/image.jpg And again further down.. http://s15.postimg.org/rxmezif0b/image.jpg
July 8, 201511 yr :( Oh well :D I don't still get how everything is so messed up with midweeks but seems that being comfortably #1 on iTunes doesn't get them anywhere for some reason.
July 8, 201511 yr Oh well :D I don't still get how everything is so messed up with midweeks but seems that being comfortably #1 on iTunes doesn't get them anywhere for some reason. At least it looks like 'Shine' has hugely helped their album pre-orders. Number 1 or not, I'm sure it'll be a long running hit and I believe it was absoluetly the right song to launch the album with, which should now comfortably go to #1.

It is quite pathetic IMO and I hope Apple and the record companies that CAVE to their threats suffer because of it (as is happening this week :D ) Surely with Apple Music this will change, apple music customers will expect to have access to the same pre-release tracks spoitify etc do, in fact they already have one Ella Eyre- Good Times, let's see if that appears on Itunes front page when it comes out
July 8, 201511 yr Author 1 more day to go, its going to feel a bit strange listening to a chart show on a Friday and it looks like David Zowie is going to bag the #1. I'm still not sure if we get an update tomorrow prior to the release of the new chart, we shall see what happens.
July 8, 201511 yr Years & Years will surely be #1 on the sales chart with David Zowie at #2. If House Every Weekend had only the radio edit version available then Fifth Harmony would never have gotten to #2 on iTunes this week.
July 8, 201511 yr Poor Y&Y :( Shine is a lovely song and would be a great number 1! And a great no1 to start the new era with!
