Good to see Lucy Rose and Ezra Furman doing well, with only a 5 day sale this week, they might place higher in the album charts then over 7 days

Just to clarify: what days of the week will the midweeks be published on now? Will they be published on Mondays instead of Thursdays?
Amusingly Avicii's “Waiting For Love” has dropped out of the Top 200, so I'm assuming a huge amount of streaming is missing.

Yes, as previously mentioned Apple Music from Sunday and Spotify for Monday (might be the other way around)

Spotify haven't updated their charts in 4 days so I wouldn't be surprised if just about all of it is missing currently.

The update today is a bit useless if there's missing data, but hopefully David Zowie can keep #1 anyway. The Years & Years song is really quite average (I heard it again last night :P)

Impressed at Krept & Konan's sales, I thought that'd be more like their total for the entire week! Can't see them holding off Ed Sheeran all week though.

In future there will be six midweek charts published by the OCC. There will be a mini midweek chart update on a Friday afternoon with sales covering a Friday morning. It will be made available to the industry before the new weekly sales chart has been made public. Details of this Friday update are very sketchy and I can't work out if it might simply be limited to new releases (especially albums).

If this Friday update is one of the six midweek updates then there will be no midweek update on either a Saturday or Sunday (there will be midweek updates each day from Monday to Thursday). If it is not part of the six midweek updates that means there will be a midweek chart published for every day from Saturday to Thursday.

Martin Talbot, Managing Director of the OCC, made the following comments about the the chart date moving to a Friday as well as changes to the midweek charts. They were published last week in Music Week

'lt's not an insignificant thing, from a database perspective, to turn a chart from coming out on a Sunday to coming out on a Friday. But now we are where we are everybody views it as a fantastic opportunity to reinvigorate the chart and give it greater profile.

If you were to start from scratch you probably wouldn't announce the chart on a Sunday night because Sunday is quite a quiet evening. The great thing about Friday is Radio 1 will have it as the last couple of hours of Greg James‘ drivetime show, it will be properly promoted and marketed and Friday night, for a lot of people, is the beginning of the weekend party.

Aside from that this is a huge change for the industry. We're going to release the chart to the industry around Friday lunchtime and try to deliver, by early afternoon, a preliminary sales flash to give them an idea what prerorders have been like and what initial sales through the morning look like. So they can finish at the end of Friday and feel they've got everything set up.

We're going to be doing sales flashes six days a week, rather than four. At the moment, we deliver the chart to the industry on Sunday lunchtime and the chart is published to the world at teatime. There will be a similar gap on a Friday. We are very aware though that, on Sunday when nobody's in the office, there's less opportunity for chart positions and the new Number One to leak out. It's really important for the chart that there is some excitement about the revelation of who's Number One. So we are going to communicate to the industry to keep schtum on a Friday."

Cheers Robbie! :)

I read that as 1x preliminary sales flash on Friday's and 6x full sales flashes Saturday to Thursday. ^_^

Oliver Heldens & Becky Hill never touched #1 on iTunes

It did get to #1 on iTunes but it was only there for about an hour due to chart ineligible entries (it would have been there for 1-2 days at least if it wasn't for this see below)

iTunes is losing it's power more and more as time goes by, (Lunchmoney Lewis, Nick Jonas & Deroro will testify!) gone are the days of 2011-13 when the iTunes top 10 was 97% of the time mirrored in the Official Chart.

Martin Talbot: "So we are going to communicate to the industry to keep schtum on a Friday."

Good luck with that. :heehee:

I've just been informed that there's no chart update today! Sorry, I'm really out of the loop! Hopefully some info will come from elsewhere though, fingers crossed.
Rob S will be taking charge of today's update! ;Ö

Sure but only if OCC posts a top 100 update at 4pm today which I'm not too sure of
