515. 50 Cent - In Da Club

50 Cent is now bankrupt. There must have been a time when he was the wealthiest rapper in the world and possibly one of the wealthiest musicians as a whole. How times have changed!

He is still extremely wealthy. 'Bankrupt' doesn't mean 'has no money left'. Not in this sense anyway.
Yeah and as far as I've read, he's just doing it to avoid paying for a lawsuit.

This song will be his enduring legacy I think. Honestly not surprised he's been declared bankrupt though

Poor Fiddy, now worth less than his name!

Do you think 50 Cent will have another mainstream hit over here again?

I certainly hope so, however unlikely that'll be. Nobody would have predicted a #2 single in 2013 from him (My Life) and if he released a single with some high profile collobarators and a 'current' sound there's no reason why not? He has a single out now with Jeremih and a trap sound which is doing nothing, so maybe not.

Artists such as Nelly, Sean Paul & Shaggy have had a big chart hit after many years away by adapting their sound so the precedent's there. All this is irrelevant if he's no longer at a major label.

Glitterball is just dreadful. You can tell they had trouble coming up with the title for it because the chorus only consists of about five words. And Ella sounds so fake on it. I'll be gutted if (and when) it outpeaks Body Talk.

Hope this can get top 15 at least :music:

Ella ruins 'Glitterball' for me! She's gone back to the over the top warbling that she did in The X Factor, which I (one of about 3 people on here) didn't like about her. 'Ghost' and 'Pieces' will be the only good songs from her. More of those two songs and I'll be back on board.

I was so gutted "Pieces" never became a single. Thought it could have done quite well.

Really great to see John Newman doing quite well on pre-orders. Hoping it'll go top 100 before it's released and he'll get another top 10 hit with "Come And Get It".

Calvin Harris needs to premier his track on Capital so he can prevent Little Mix from spending multiple weeks at #1
The premiere of "How Deep Is Your Love" is going to be this Thursday at 9am. GMT. That said, if it's taken into consideration that it's going to have a similar WW premiere as "Blame" had last year, I guess Capital and/or BBC Radio 1 will play it around that time, unless one of them has the exclusive one. If the latter happens, I assume it will be announced soon.

It could be possible but the chances of that happening are slim, especially as he's getting on a bit now (he turned 40 last week). It's really surprising that he's never had a UK #1 either as the main artist, featured artist or as part of G-Unit.

#180 - Glitterball

#239 - Body Talk

I think Glitterball will wind up going top 10 in the end. It has another week to keep climbing which will help it. I'm pretty sure it'll end up out-peaking Higher anyhow.

Fight Song should be pushed back 1 week so she actually has a small chance at getting #1, altho I assume Charlie and Meghan will remain there for multiple weeks

Top 10 weighted and combined

1) Little Mix - Black Magic 1.0000

2) Years & Years - Shine 0.7247

3) Sam Feldt - Show Me Love (feat. Kimberly Anne) 0.5913

4) David Zowie - House Every Weekend 0.5653

5) Lost Frequencies - Are You With Me 0.5352

6) Avicii - Waiting for Love 0.4755

7) Birdy - Wings 0.3949

8) Tinie Tempah - Not Letting Go (feat. Jess Glynne) 0.3722

9) James Bay - Let It Go 0.3625

10) Fifth Harmony Worth it 0.3485

47. Shaggy - I Need Your Love (feat. Mohombi, Faydee & Costi)

Shaggy gaining back that relevance *.*
