Poor forgotten Shayne Ward.

...but follow ups flopped. 'No U Hang Up' and 'Breathless' were Top 10 hits after all!

'No U Hang Up' *.*

I'm gutted Syco dropped the ball with Shayne! He had potential to actually be huge. Everything was there for him, bar the material (for the most part).

It was the 3 year break between his second and third album that did him absolutely no favours! Poor Shayne ;o

He still managed more than one top 10 hit and had a successful second era, but the member I quoted forgot to mention him :P that was my point for mentioning Shayne.

It says "a few X Factor winners have had a top 10 hit but follow ups flopped", Shayne managed further Top 10 hits, so therefore hasn't been forgotten. :P Of anything, only James Arthur has (deservedly) been forgotten!

In order, the most forgotten male X Factor winners imo:

01. Leon Jackson

02. James Arthur

03. Steve Brookstein

04. Matt Cardle

05. Shayne Ward

06. Joe McElderry

Steve at 3 because his random X Factor outbursts help keep him vaguely relevant. It says it all when I think Joe is the least forgotten but the classical transition helped him hugely.

I wouldn't say any were particuarly remembered well though or played on radio.

I wouldn't sat James Arthur is that forgotten tbh. His follow ups have done ok in the chart.

Leon is definitely least remembered. I'd say Shayne is most remembered but mainly because he's in Corrie now. James I'd place higher because I think he's still known for being a prat on Twitter.

He had massive marketability and a cracking voice. That's Syco for you however!

Except that single didn't feature a popular singer like Kelly Clarkson. With her being featured on the single you'd expect that the label are actually going to try with Ben, like they did with James Arthur before he killed his own career.

Surely getting an exclusive Gay Barlow song was supposed to be trying?

Matt is fairly well remembered, he might not be massively popular with his music but he's on the West End. Same sorta deal with Shayne.

He had one #2 hit after the winner's single and pretty much nothing else of note. That single is never played anywhere any more because of how his reputation unfolded in the months afterwards.

37 KStewart - Ain't Nobody

40 Chris Brown - Zero

66 LunchMoney Lewis - Whip It! (feat. Chloe Angelides)

88 Jamie Woon - Sharpness

98 John Newman - Tiring Game (feat. Charlie Wilson)

102 Jason Derulo - Cheyenne

122 Diplo & Sleepy Tom - Be Right There [PRE-ORDER]

132 J Hus - Lean & Bop

143 Flo Rida - My House

166 Hot Chip - Huarache Lights (Soulwax Remix)

Would be interesting to see how high Whip It! would get with Capital/R1 support, it's got potential I think~

"Whip It!" has Capital support but not R1 support. Capital's support has been giving it the ol' boost

But when that track isn't as good as the rest of the album it isn't. It was way more a promotion of Gary being on X Factor then Matt. If it succeeded, Gary would be applauded. But it failed, so it was Matt's fault. Even Take That recording it wouldn't have made it a smash hit. I like the track myself but it wasn't exactly Gary's best effort.

Run For Your Life is one of the best songs ever recorded.

Come on now. Let's not be silly.
