Sort of think Exs & Ohs could be no1 in January!

Really? That's not something I would have possibly ever envisaged when I first heard the song lol!

I wondered why there were so many extra pages in this thread since I last posted here. 300 pound'ers how are you feeling now?
Limited internet so I cant read the whole thread, but whats the likeliness of NHS Choir getting to number one now?

Fairly likely if the campaign is determined enough and knows what numbers it needs to get.

If they continue to increase at their current rate, it's pretty much a dead cert unless JB's streams are miraculously high.

I placed £150 on the NHS before betting closed. I've spent £450 in total. If NHS wins I'll receive £412, if JB wins I'll receive £409...so a loss of £40 pretty much either way. Not winning but at least it's not a 300 quid loss :P

Yeah I put my money on bieber, £300.

Not worried at all. He'll be no.1 by a long shot I still think.

As much as I love JB, this is great news, I'm all for it

Popjustice seemed to envision it :kink: though yeah it isn't a #1 hit, I could see it emulating Riptide's success or something

From the list Jase posted 'Stitches' will be big, and probably the Little Mix/Jason and Selena Gomez tracks as well

16. Sugar (feat. Francesco Yates) - Robin Schulz

17. Stitches - Shawn Mendes

35. All My Friends (feat. Tinashe & Chance The Rapper) - Snakehips

41. Secret Love Song (feat. Jason Derulo) - Little Mix

52. Ex's & Oh's - Elle King

59. Touch - Pia Mia

All these to be gigantic hits in the new year please, obsessed on all of them

WOW £300, I hope you win. What were the odds?

NHS Choirs 1.000

Justin Bieber 0.469

Pushed Biiber down another ~3% this update.

Hang on Bieber is lower than that when you add nhs other entry and biebers much smaller other one. Isn't it actually about 0.36?
It would be nice if people who bought NHS Choir are doing it because they like the song (or for charity reasons), instead of trying to cynically BLOCK somebody they don't like getting it.

No doubt a lot of people are buying NHS Choir for good reasons, but its sudden surge isn't a lot to do with the fact its become a popular song all of a sudden, rather to stop Bieber getting it. Some people downloading 10 times and don't even bother to listen to the song even once.

Wouldn't it be nice if we had a Christmas chart battle like that famous one in 1994 between Mariah Carey and East 17 when whoever won we could actually conclude and say that the winner was the more popular song of choice to listen to that week, rather than some cynical attempt to piss another artist and their fans off?

I don't think it's really got much to do with Bieber has it?

That would mean at 0.4-0.5 they're only drawing level now, plus they've got to make up the fact that they've lost the past 4 days. 3 days to go, but like I say these campaigners will know whats needed to win and will adjust accordingly. If its 0.4 they need from here on in, they'll do it, if its 0.3 they need or 0.1 or whatever it is they'll do what it takes.

It will be interesting to if they keep this up but it looks like they've got the bit between their teeth now.

For some people it is, I don't dispute some people are buying it out of interest/good will, but the fact that Bieber's the poster boy who to beat doesn't help.

I think it doesn't matter how much it's pushing Bieber down now I will only believe it can get the no1 if it's like that TOMORROW night as it needs to maintain a lead not just get a boost for 3/4 hours IMO.

I really hope that 'Ex's and Oh's' doesn't become as big as I'm fearing it will be! :(

I add up their combined popularity bars and then divide bieber's total pop bars by the NHS Choir total pop bars to get the what percentage Bieber is selling compared to the NHS Choir.

NHS Choir = 1.000 + 0.2054 = 1.2054

Justin Beiber = 0.5297 + 0.0361 = 0.5658

0.5658/1.2054 = 0.469

So he's selling 0.469 copies for every 1 copy that the NHS Choir sell.

My worry is that if NHS Choir get it, then it's going to just continue the belief that only charity singles or "campaigns" will ever get the Christmas #1 and so we'll have another decade or two of major artists not bothering and unexciting #1s. I can see a whole succession of various choirs for various charities all singing various covers of various songs being planned out for the rest of the decade as I type, basically replacing the X Factor in all but name - and you can bet Simon Cowell would still be involved somehow, given it's clearly a winning formula. Stand by for The Choir Factor hitting ITV screens in a year or two.

And before anyone makes the obvious point that it's raising money for a good charity, yeah of course that's a good thing - that's not what's bothering me! It's just speaking from a UK chart perspective that this all used to be so much more fun and interesting...

doesn't seem bieber cares much of number one, if he did a few tweets he could still be in the race
