Yes but margin of victory is bigger than you previously predicted so Drake is catching up faster than earlier predictions!
May 18, 201610 yr Shame RnB will miss the playzone despite being top 5 on iTunes It doesn't matter if it was top 5 on iTunes if it has zero streams tho!
May 18, 201610 yr Yes but margin of victory is bigger than you previously predicted so Drake is catching up faster than earlier predictions! Well not by much, only about ~1K bigger - Drake is recovering, however Justin Timberlake is also strengthening. I think JT should overtake next week.

May 18, 201610 yr They won't be dropped  this is hardly the end for the song, this is the age of OA/OS where songs climb to their peak typically... I could be wrong but I can't see RnB hanging around and be more like a 28-56-Out kind of hit? Surely an act like them are front loaded? Also Syco are brutal for dropping acts - Bars & Melody (Top 5), Loveable Rogues (Top 10) etc, have proved this and if Syco are prepared to drop Ben Haenow after a Platinum single plus a silver album then RnB probably already have their contracted ripped up!
May 18, 201610 yr Big on iTunes in a low sales environment means that niche markets/fanbase buys dominate more. True but if anything the Eurovision songs have performed worse on iTunes this year. Remember in 2014 when four of them made the official top 40 (just before streaming was introduced to the chart and iTunes still accounted for about 80% of its makeup). I'm quite sure that four Eurovision songs won't make the sales top 40 this week...Joe and Jake might.
May 18, 201610 yr I really don't think RnB will be going anywhere soon! (Certainly hope not). I think it's very wide-spanning in terms of popularity and should be a fairly good performer on streaming.
May 18, 201610 yr Author Yeah I can see RnB being s decent sized top 10 hit once airplay has kicked in. They're most probably going to have some huge BGT perfomance next week too.
May 19, 201610 yr I don't think Drake's going to fall far anytime soon, I was at a house party the other day and One Dance was played and out of 20-ish people in their late 20s only about 3 had any clue what the track was. Most people seemed to enjoy it though. I do like the Justin track too, but I don't particularly LOVE either of them. In fact all of the number ones this year have been 'nice enough but nothing more' for me. The year has got off to quite a non-descript start.
May 19, 201610 yr It has few, not 0 My point remains tho, a top 5 position on itunes is irrelevant now with 'few' streams!

I'm fairly sure Bars & Melody only had a one-single deal with Syco and Loveable Rogues chose to leave the label too. What we hear in the press with acts like Ben (that it was a mutual decision) might cover up what actually happened - Something I Need did well for him but he only reached #21 with Second Hand Heart, and they might have expected better (although if they did they'd have promoted him more). There is a chance RnB will be performing on the Britain's Got Talent final though, as they've not announced any guests for that.
