Have there been any hit singles before that were collaborations between a boyband and a girlgroup? I can't even think of any non-hits that fit that description :o

The closest I can think of is Blue featuring L.A.D.E - Bubblin' which got to number 9 in 2004. L.A.D.E were a new girlband managed by Simon Webbe so naturally he got them to feature on the single mix of Bubblin'. I'm not sure if they were officially credited and they obviously didn't take off as they had hoped but they ARE on the song alongside Blue.

I don't think overexposure is as much of an issue as it was in the past.

 

Little Mix might as well keep up with their momentum and release if they have the material in the works. I do think it would be smarter to do a re-issue with a standalone single in November though.

I'm surprised really that The Saturdays and JLS didn't do something together even as a charity single back at the time both bands were popular. Would've been nice to see Marvin and Rochelle on the same record and Vanessa and Aston going hell for leather on falsetto/high notes.

The Saturdays were popular 2008 until 2013. JLS were popular 2009 until 2012 so yes.

 

A Little Mix and One Direction in 2012/13 would have been interesting too.

TBH with little mix getting so many comparisons to 1D early on I half expect them to release together
