This debate is all just pointless anyway because we all know Rita will plough through with the #1s this year x
Omg this!!!!!!!!

#1 smashes* like... Oh wait.

* as a lead artist

let's not forget Queen Jess will be coming back with new solo material which will go straight to #1 with a weekly sales total that will put the likes of Adele, Justin Bieber and Ed Sheeran to shame.

(not really but I think it's likely she'll get another #1 this year!)

It would be interesting to see how many times an artist could celebrate a number 1 single (counting solos, features, and collectives). Cheryl has had 5 solo #1s (main artist), 4 #1 with Girls Aloud, and 1 #1 with the collective Helping Haiti. That's 10 singles !

I think Paul McCartney still holds that record: 16 in The Beatles, 1 in The Beatles With Billy Preston, 1 in Wings, 1 solo, 1 duet with Stevie Wonder, 1 with the Christians and Holly Johnson, 1 as part of Ferry Aid, 1 as part of Band Aid 20 and 1 as part of the Justice Collective.

Can’t believe we’ve gone pages and pages of this debate and no ones mentioned that FOUR of these #1s will be only features for Jess.

Not Letting Go

Rather Be

These Days

My Love

I want her to get the record though mostly cos I cannot stand Cheryl in the slightest

5 Lil Dicky feat. Chris Brown - Freaky Friday (19.1k)

Who is BUYING THIS???  It would be one of the worst/ most embarrassing #1s ever.

How can they POSSIBLY connect to a song with lyrics like, such as, help, help, I'm stuck in Chris Brown's body?? It reminds me of this PARODY SONG at the 1:47 mark

What makes you think people are buying/streaming it because of some emotional connection to the song? It’s possible to like a song without actually relating to it

George decreases on Spotify for Wednesday update!

Only 10% boost FROM the One Show and now it's declining. That's big but not a mammoth effect lol

Go Rudimental and Jess!

TaraElla is coming to snatch the record tbh.

THIS!!

I don't care should never have been a no.q tbh

BUT CHERTL DESERVEA THE RECORD AS A MEMBER OF THR BIGGEST UK GIRLBAND SINCE THE SUGABABES

Can't believe it's taken this long for Rudimental/Jess Glynne and friends to get to number one, it's been number one in my charts for seven weeks now and is surely already the best pop song of 2018

That’s a pretty rubbish case for ‘Chertl’ right there. Sarah Harding deserves the record if we’re going by that logic.

My favourite part about these past few pages is Lee’s comforting reminder that Zara Larsson is coming soon, so I’m sure that she will be challenging for the most solo female #1s for a Brit. You know, as a Swede.

Screaming.

Whenever I hear 'These Days' it's a sad reminder about what's happened to Rudimental - they were so fresh when they first emerged and alongside Disclosure defined British commercial dance music in that period. Especially when 'Feel The Love' came out of nowhere and became one of the biggest songs of the year. Now they are releasing safe pop music (the Ed Sheeran collab to save the second album was the turning point I think).

Exactly how I feel, Waiting All Night was one of my favourite songs of 2013 and it was up against some pretty stiff competition. Bloodstream remix was a decent drum and bass track but they've certainly had a fall from grace.
