Liven up in extra time, but I think Croatia are at a disadvantage, if the goalkeeper pulls his hamstring again, while trying to save the ball flying at him.

Really wasn't fancying the controversy of England vs. Russia so hooray for Croatia pulling through there! (Also means I actually like 3 of the remaining 4 teams - anyone but France to win pls :magic:)

Wow, that was a bad penalty shootout. The host nation really threw it away there and that Modric one could've easily been saved.

 

Russia did play a lot better and I didn't see that last minute equaliser coming, but quite glad they didn't fluke it again (and politically, them facing us would be a bit uneasy). Croatia still haven't looked very convincing so I do think we have a chance, glad to see them still through either way~

They looked dead on their feet by the end. Tomorrow will be a rest day, but only 2 days training before another game. Fatigue does play a major part these days as players work so much harder than they used to years gone by.

 

Croatia will be no easy ride. They've completely fallen apart since their utterly dominant group stage displays, relying on 2 penalty shootouts but they still have the players to cause us real problems - another tight one to call!

I think that's a lot to do with the fact they have faced two very defensively sound teams. The big test in the Croatia game will be the midfield and whether Dele and Lingard track back. Could see Southgate going for a double pivot in midfield rather than a single.

Wanted Russia to win :( Feel bad for them, after coming back in extra time they go out on a penalty shootout :(

 

However Croatia probably deserved to get through, as they played better throughout the match I would say, don't know why Russia played so poorly in the second half of normal time after such a good first half, they were lucky to hang on to extra time.
