the little mix single with cheat codes it's bit a missed opportunity, it's a pity they didn't go with a better single with a better dance act, I don't mind cheat codes but tehre are more talented poeple out there, and the song is average, a 5/10, but it's not a masterpiece

I'm actually surprised the girls said yes to this and didn't pass

So is Liam's EP eligible for the Albums or Singles chart? Or neither?
Probably neither? Confused as I thought with it being 4 tracks long that it'd make the singles chart, or maybe it is but it just isn't selling enough anyway??

Amazed Shotgun is still in the lead! I'm glad as I prefer it to Promises, but I thought Promises would be there with ease this week

I like 'Shotgun' and all but it's starting to overstay its welcome at the top a bit now. Is it really that compelling a song for it to spend so many months in the top 2??

Maybe next week for Calvin :drama:

Also: Lucid Dreams is very comfortably ahead of #11. Think this is finally its opportunity!
It's very strange to me that "Shotgun" has spent so long in the Top 2 (and at No. 1) when "Paradise" only spent one week Top 2 when it's FAR superior. "Shotgun" just doesn't scream "number one" to me at all. It feels to me a bit like if "IDGAF" had been the long-running number one hit instead of "New Rules" for Dua Lipa.
Is Queen back in the Top 10?

Yup!

re. Shotgun, it seems to appeal to every demographic. People of all ages seem to be fans of it - I personally love it and I know my grandparents do too, which is very rare! It sounds great in the hot weather too which I assume has helped it a lot over the summer. Plus I think it's a case of the right place and right time for George. Paradise boosted him back into the public eye in a big way and Shotgun was able to ride that wave. It's definitely worthy of all its success I think - and all of it without Capital FM support (the hits station not playing one of the biggest hits of the year :o)

How is George increasing his lead from Calvin? The sooner it hits ACR, the better

Mama Mia and TGS getting closer sales each week if nothing big comes along I wouldn’t be surprised to see TGS get another week down the line

Nice to see a three way battle at top of singles but most likely gonna go down to the wire between Ezra / CH+SS

Hopefully baby shark hols on just to see it in chart and to see if they play it and how they explain it’s success (yes I know it’s down to drake IMF parody)

I love Shotgun. Paradise has been the single that I’ve not been particularly fussed over so I’m glad Shotgun has outperformed it. I’m happy for it to stay at no.1 given that there is nothing in the top 10 close to being as good.

Yeah I must admit, I never got into Paradise all that much - I much prefer Shotgun (and Don't Matter Now)!

Did we ever get an explanation of that? Surely people have noticed and complained?

Not that I've seen. Their explanation is that he's probably too "indie" or something just as ridiculous

I love both but I've grown to prefer Shotgun. I think it just came out at the right time - a perfect summer song that was at No.1/2 during a prolonged heatwave.

It's nice to have a long-ish running No.1 that isn't from one of the usual suspects (Drake/Ed/Justin). I would be quite happy with Promises overtaking though, really liking that too.

The sooner he moves onto his next single, the sooner “Shotgun” can f*** off

...I'm not going to believe it until I see it on Friday!

I love Don’t Matter Now too! Such an undeserved flop and better than Paradise for me.
