not terrible but it's nice.... Since its ed ft bieber its gna be a hit while this song would be a decent top 20 hit if any other artist had releassed it.

If this was Cheat Codes ft Conor Maynard I’m not sure it’d even go top 100!

You could say this for any hit by a big name artist to be fair, name power is important!

I like it. No.1 on I-Tunes so a sure fire No.1 for weeks I reckon.

No. 1 on iTunes means literally nothing these days outside of Xmas week (see the RSPB song). Think it's the insane streaming that'll keep this at the top for the maximum 9 weeks.

That said, I was very surprised to see that the #2 song wasn't absolutely minute on LivePopBars when I looked earlier, I expected a Shape Of You-esque domination.

The numbers on LPB look pretty odd as it's pushed Lewis and Lil Nas X down to 0.18 according to Kworb!

I'm not a Ed fan (some of his stuff is alright, but I hate Shape of You lol) and the only Beiber songs I've liked have been his dance collabs,

but I really like this. I'd rather it wasn't #1 for weeks on end, but it's quite decent.

Well this was the musical non event that most of us saw coming. I can’t even distinguish between the vocals of Ed or Justin as they’re both void of life and emotion. It’s kind of laughable that they mention not wanting to fit it anyway and producing a song just as dull and boring as most of the current top 40.
agree on not being able to distinguish their voices, had to even look it up to know who was singing which part
I didn't have a problem distinguishing their voices, but I suppose it helps that I'm a fan of both and know their voices better (notably Justin's tone lol)
Well I for one am so glad that two names this big have done something so experimental, lyrically unconventional and completely different for both names involved, it's certainly nothing I ever expected to hear from either of them and the good thing is their immense star power will ensure it will go straight to number 1 for ages and it could be difficult for radios to playlist something like this, I feel this could really inspire some more experimentation and new genres being explored in other artists as well and some real shifts in popular music and I can't wait, all hail our saviours of music

I read this aghast until I realised you were being sarcastic.

I mean it’s okay. But it wasn’t the absolute trash bucket that I was expecting given what I’ve read on here. Don’t think it will stick on me but it’s a soundtrack song so I guess anything works.

It’s like Swan Song - pretty decent but in the end it will probably just be throwaway compared to the rest of their discography.

As someone who actually liked some of Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber's recent material, I still think this is a meh song even by their standards. It just feels really basic.

Same here, not the biggest fan of either but I've really liked a lot of both their latest eras (Castle On The Hill is brilliant and I loved all three of the Purpose #1s) but this just isn't it. It's nothing to do with it being a male voice, or not being Taylor Swift or whoeevr else, that argument is really boring when it's always brought up on this site. The song is just boring and generic, and yes neither artist is known for alternative jazz metal or anything wild but this is another level of meh.

I actually don't hate it, which is rather miraculous as I am still on major Sheeran/Bieber burn out, but it is rather generic and doesn't seem to have as much of Ed's typical writing style.

Honestly, I would not be surprised if this was massive for three or four weeks and then quickly faded away. It's not very catchy.

The hiccup sounds in the background remind me of "Clique" by Kanye West. This song is not as bad as a lot of people have made it out to be but it was never going to be the best song in the world considering it's mainly Ed Sheeran.
