As a family we do 'country nights' and usually I find a song from each country, we've done every country from Uruguay to Botswana alphabetically and the only one I really struggled to find a song from was Bhutan as none of the songs are on Spotify but there's actually quite a few on Soundcloud. So yeah, pretty much every country is possible.

I know it's a bit off-topic but this sounds like a fun family activity tbh! When I was a kid, we had these cards with all the countries' flags on them and we'd play a guessing game and eventually I remembered all the European flags and a lot of the non-European flags too. I'd struggle a bit more now :(

as a kid the games i'd play with my family were "go tidy your room or you don't get fed" or my personal fave "see if you can put your clothes away quicker than mum can throw them out the window"

Taahino's song lives up to the name btw. Striking title, striking song! It sounds like it would fit almost perfectly on M.I.A.'s debut album.

So just unlucky we got nothing from East Asia. Fair, I guess, but I hope they get a bit of attention next time as they all have huge music industries and weird Laotian or whatever entries have been great highlights before.

Unfortunately, we do not have 100+ posters to assign each country to a person. So I think someone would rather have the likes of Denmark to a country in the middle east with a population of 10,000

Maybe we’d have done the country selection slightly differently if we were hosting but we aren’t, you are. And now that is behind us. I’m actually really hopeful the contest itself is going to be good, the lineup looks promising names alone.

this idea could be interesting but it could also backfire. like I realize that we have close to 200 countries existing today but how many of those even have an existing music market?
