December 17, 20196 yr On the subject of Christmas I really hope Coldplay make the Top 40 with the iconic ‘Christmas Lights’ this year - it’s doing slightly better than the same point last year. Yeh it's one of my favourites too, think all Christmas songs are doing better this year.
December 17, 20196 yr Pretty sure they missed it last year so already set a precedent for not doing it. I hope they do something still, especially as it is a decade end as well, but not holding my breath What'd they not do the last chart of the year last year then? There's no way they'll play 30 Xmas songs on the evening of the 27/12/19!
December 17, 20196 yr Would be surprised now if Harry stayed ahead of Stormzy when most of the gap has now evaporated even before considering Stormzy's advantage in the stream upweighting at the end of the week. Rod looking like he'll be comfortably #1 now though. Stormzy's album could well climb to #1 after physical sales once again collapse into a black hole after Christmas. His streams are holding up very well so far.
December 17, 20196 yr Hopefully Harry can stay at #2! I'm just happy Stormzy won't be getting another #1 :P Wonder if he could rise to the top of will an old album do well in the sales like usually happens.
December 17, 20196 yr Can see Stormzy climbing to #1 in January too, maybe again in February if he performs at the BRITS.
December 17, 20196 yr Or how about 'Another Sausage Roll Christmas'? (not that anyone would have the nerve to cover a Gary Glitter song lol) Surely it's “God Gave Sausage Rolls To You II”.
December 17, 20196 yr Can see Stormzy climbing to #1 in January too, maybe again in February if he performs at the BRITS. Yeh good chance he will benefit greatly!
December 17, 20196 yr it really is no contest now! a clever move from LadBaby dropping a remix halfway through the week for extra sales. Excellent move Edited December 17, 20196 yr by mic1812
December 17, 20196 yr I cant find anything where there is a cd single available of I Love Sausage Rolls. Anyone have a link.
December 17, 20196 yr Surely it's “God Gave Sausage Rolls To You II”. "Sausage Rolls Ain't Noise Pollution"
December 18, 20196 yr Surely it's “God Gave Sausage Rolls To You II”. I can actually imagine that working. On a different note, I'm gutted that Sia's Christmas album hasn't re-entered the Top 100 since it was released 2 years ago :( it really is a masterpiece. I'm just hoping that 'Santa's Coming For Us' can re-peak next week.
December 18, 20196 yr I would imagine SCFU will as it's close to the top 40 this week, that'll be the last time though as it's on ACR next December (that was a quick three years) unless of course it enters in the future if it takes off.
December 18, 20196 yr It is DIRE. It's not even a Christmas song!  Change it to Last Summer and take out the bells they added to try and pretend it's a Christmas song and you would. That could be said of most Christmas songs, so it does not support your claim.
December 18, 20196 yr maybe Stormzy should start campaigning to get the first #1 single and album of the new decade, that would be something remarkable too
December 18, 20196 yr I hate how everyone is labelling 2020 as the start of the new decade when technically the next decade doesn't start until 1st Jan 2021
December 18, 20196 yr I hate how everyone is labelling 2020 as the start of the new decade when technically the next decade doesn't start until 1st Jan 2021 It’s because 2020 is the start of the new decade. Why would 2021 be the start?
December 18, 20196 yr I hate how everyone is labelling 2020 as the start of the new decade when technically the next decade doesn't start until 1st Jan 2021 70’s 1970 to 1979 70s would not be 1971 to 1980 now 80’s 1980 to 1989 would not be 1981 to 1990 90’s 1990 to 1999 00’s 2000 to 2009 10’s 2010 to 2019 20’s 2020 to 2029 10 years in decade
December 18, 20196 yr Technically it should be in 2021 but it’s just so much easier to label things like the ‘10s’ or the ‘20s’ with the penultimate digit rather than 2020 also being a part of the 202nd decade (as it uses 1-10 rather than 0-9 which we use). If 2000 is the 2000th year then the millennium/century/decade should have started in 2001, but who actually does that?
December 18, 20196 yr the correct form is from 1 to 10, so the new decade shouldn't start until 2021 but I gave up trying to explain it to people :D it all comes from Jesus, after he was born, year 1 started, so 1st decade is from 1 to 10 it's not that after he was born year 0 started :)
