December 18, 20196 yr Update from Say Hey today 48 (42) Step Back In Time Sales: 2,259 Yesterday: 549 Sales WoW -7% CD: 1,920 Digital: 34 Streams: 200 LP: 102 134 (23) Golden - Live Sales: 751 Yesterday: 225 Sales WoW -88% CD: 721 Digital: 24 Streaming: 6 Rod Stewart is racing ahead at no1 in the album charts. In one day he was about 300 copies behind Harry, now his 7,000 ahead..... I know this was a few pages ago, but I'm completely and utterly amazed that 1,000 people are going to buy Kylie's live album in its second week. :o
December 18, 20196 yr why you comparing Harry with Pink? Pink's the anti-spotify artist, same as Dido for instance they rely mostly on physical sales, which during the regular year (not Nov-Dec) barely last 2 weeks for most artists Harry is the opposite, he's on every imaginable Spotify playlist and sure he's gonna get at least 2-3K "free" sales from playlists alone in addition to his proper album streams, that's a luxury that Pink does not have
December 18, 20196 yr Actually, out of the top ten albums right now, I think the #1 spot after Xmas goes to either Harry or Stormzy.

December 18, 20196 yr If anyone's interested, Jarvis Cocker's song is at 87 in today's midweeks (according to this OCC article). Underlining the irrelevance of being Top 3 on iTunes.
December 18, 20196 yr Harry looking at 50kish I think that is pretty good for him but the real test is how it holds up. I dont know why I'm getting serious Pink vibes chart wise from it, where Harry wont get a proper hit after the album release. He didn't last era anyway so it wouldn't be a big deal, he's already got 3 top 40s from this album compared to 1 before.
December 18, 20196 yr Does Mariah have a shot of hitting #1 the week after this chart? Damn ACR, my least favorite chart rule in history.
December 18, 20196 yr many trhanks to WhoChristmassy for providing the LadBaby cd single link. Most appreciated
December 18, 20196 yr Does Mariah have a shot of hitting #1 the week after this chart? Damn ACR, my least favorite chart rule in history. depends on how big her streams get in the run up to christmas - she’ll have to do double what Stormzy’s doing and right now she’s behind him so I’m not sure but I wouldn’t rule her out yet.

December 18, 20196 yr Probably covered elsewhere... Great idea of Ellie Goulding to cover 'River' but I am wondering who is going to cover next year as it is starting to be an annual event, in recent years we have had versions from a diverse bunch of Artists: Lighthouse Family (2019), Gabrielle Aplin (2018), Tom Chaplin (2017), Sam Smith (2017), Nick Knowles (!) (2017), Katie Melua (2016), Lemar (2015), Beth Orton (2014), Brian Kennedy (2013) Tracy Thorn (2012). I did say diverse - remind me to start a thread next year as to who will release their version.

The Wikipedia page for the song says it has been covered over 400 times...it's a bit surreal that the original has never charted! I think Ellie Goulding's cover is the first one to actually chart...I'm happy the song charted, but I wasn't a big fan of her version on first listen. At least it's better than Nick Knowles, I suppose...
December 18, 20196 yr Technically it should be in 2021 but it’s just so much easier to label things like the ‘10s’ or the ‘20s’ with the penultimate digit rather than 2020 also being a part of the 202nd decade (as it uses 1-10 rather than 0-9 which we use). If 2000 is the 2000th year then the millennium/century/decade should have started in 2001, but who actually does that? Me :D
December 18, 20196 yr Underlining the irrelevance of being Top 3 on iTunes. Ladbaby aint doing badly though :P
