Literally everything Project Fear will come true, except it will be even worse than our worst predictions because none of us imagined Boris Johnson even at his worst would actively fire anyone remotely competent for not being loyal, or would skive off more than half the time in his long-wished-for 'dream job'.

You should allow Boris a bit of leeway as he still doesn't look right to me. Not like he did before he had Covid. Rumours are that he doesn't feel well either yet carries on every day like a real trooper, not wanting to let the country or people down. Let's not be too hard on him then.

Also he has money worries and it's said he can't afford a nanny for his son. :( He claims he can't manage on the 275k he gets annually from The Sunday Telegraph, his MP's salary 0f 87k and his PM salary of around 150k too. Apparently his finances are worrying him and he thinks the PM isn't paid enough. Compared to TV and radio presenters and footballers he isn't. His job carries far more responsibilty than theirs.

Shall we have a whip-round for Boris?

Oh come on Chris, stop fishing with that  You don't enter politics for the money in the day job. rather than smearing footballers & media personalities who do of course get paid a lot, most of them would admit it I'm sure. Instead it should be the bankers, oilgarchs and tax avoiders who Boris hangs around with

When I saw that ridiculous Times article I did wonder if Chris had managed to get his way into it. No sympathy for a politician setting the country down a harmful ideological driven path especially when all that's wrong is that he's worried his £150k salary doesn't go far enough.

If he's ending up not liking his dream job the sooner he quits the better.

Yes I agree they're paid too much too. Is it my fault that Boris is saying he's not paid enough and is struggling for money?

As far as I can tell he does like it BUT he's finding it a lot harder than he expected and who can blame him with Covid and Brexit. He hasn't been well and seems still not right. No-one can really prepare you for that job as it's quite unique. You can have been a cabinet member but the PM job must be like no other.

Just had thought, can't he offset a nanny's salary against his tax? Nita's employers do that, so it doesn't really cost them anything. Unless he doesn't realise he can do that.

No of course it is not your fault. But how can someone who earns more than 95% of the country be struggling for money? He is not struggling, he just has a lifestyle he clearly can't afford (or all his investments have fallen off a cliff).

Struggling with a 150k salary. Such relatable content.
according to a quick google search the guy is literally worth £1.5 million. if he's struggling with £150k idk maybe sell a house or car or three

He is paid more than 99% of the country. If he was paid what he earns (in the strictest sense of the word), he would be paid less than the minimum wage.

Don't forget he'll be on the top rate of tax too. He's not pocketing 500k+ a year.

Chris - the rules state no trolling (deliberately provoking a reaction) and this has now gone way off-topic. Please don't contribute anything further unless you have something to add about Brexit.

He doesn’t look well but it’s more like he’s panicking that this is a job that requires hard work and he can’t just be lazy. At least his excuse is ready for when he does step down.

As for that guff about no money. He has never wanted for anything. That baby has a mother who even if working would still be on maternity leave so why is a Nanny necessary? Nurses go to food banks but poor old Boris isn’t as rich as he used to be.

Sad because he can't afford a nanny?

Maybe he should do like his peers say and don't have kids if you can't afford them.

How very dare you. Children are our future and we are on this Earth to procreate and nothing else  ESPECIALLY if we are poor and incapable of supporting anyone including ourselves. That's like 'Cishet People 101' in Russia.

As one story MP once said he clearly has a cash flow problem!
I'm expecting a LOT of bitterness and desperation from the EU people next week.

Good times.

My source didn't let me down. And it's only going to get worse for the EU project next week too. The UK government will just keep turning up the heat. We love to see it.

I may be preoccupied with more important matters but how exactly are the UK government ‘turning up the heat’?
