I don’t know why I’m thinking of this tbh I was just thinking though imagine if the queen passed away would the royals really need to isolate regardless of their status and would that funeral (like the biggest funeral that will happen on a WW scale in history) not happen etc.

Obviously I’m fairly sure people like who I’ve mentioned are very protected against it though and are amongst the least likely in the world to get it.

When you’re in lockdown and have no job to get up for though your mind really boggles.

I doubt it would and it would be stupid if it did.

Why would it be stupid?

Do you really love your royals more than the safety of the inhabitants of the country?

In The Netherlands there's rules for funerals where only first grade family can attend (siblings, parents, children)

I'd guess if that were the case they'd probably do a lowkey funeral and then stage a bigger 'event' for it at a later date or something.

I'm getting hope from the rumblings that it might have already been more widespread than thought and we might have all had it already and survived.

Re the royals, what exactly ARE they doing during this? Would be nice if they could leverage some of their incredible wealth that they got for nothing to make ventilators, masks, soap etc. etc. Instead of running to the hills to give us announcements from their gold-plated rooms.

Staying at home being scared of getting the virus and losing all the money that they worked so hard earning.

I called in 'sick' to work. Said I had a cough and was told to isolate for 7 days. I didn't have the balls to tell them I was staying off until they started taking our health more seriously.

More than 250,000 people have already signed up to be NHS volunteers

absolutely incredible, especially considering 250,000 was the target set just yesterday/day before (its all blending into one help)

I do find it amusing that the Prince of Wales who is normally based in England is self isolating in Scotland.
An intensive care nurse in her 20s as sadly taken her own life at work. :( She was working at King's College Hospital where they're treating patients for coronavirus.
No joke was under lockdown at work for an hour as a ex-colleague who found out today he lost his job refused to leave the building, he was shouting and yelling. I was working alongside for him for 4 months, only working with him just on Monday. He came in and was shouting at my manager, kept coming in, no security. He wished me all the best before and then came in again. Police took him away. Poor bloke had a breakdown. What a day.

Hope he’s going to be OK. I suspect he will be one of many :(

I have to say I’m tiring of people saying Boris is doing a good job. He’s reacted to everything very late. They’re doing the best they can now, but what took them so long?
A scathing critique of the government’s handling of this cann be found here https://thegreatcritique.wordpress.com/2020...tting-told-off/

If you don’t think we should be criticising the government at this time, you might not want to read it. OTOH, reading it might make you change your mind.

Devastating and accurate.

Johnson, Trump & co are self-serving, self-promoting selfish morons. Nothing new or surprising there. What's more surprising (but not really) is how many of their fanboys and fangirls still think they are sent from God and can do no wrong, despite daily evidence to the contrary going back decades. I'd like to say it's because the followers are just as nasty - but it's not usually true. What they are is insanely blinkered to reality, mentally deleting anything that doesn't fit their unshifting world-view or cult. People's willingness to go full-on self-delusion remains breath-taking....!

The government definitely deserve a lot of flak but the wider society aren't blameless either. It doesn't matter how strict the measures are theres always a few selfish idiots contributing to the problem. They too must take their share of the blame. How difficult an order is "stay home"

I hope so too. Really got on well all with him. Very sad to see that.
