No new Corona deaths in Northern Ireland in the past 24 hours. That’s either good news for Northern Ireland, or bad news for the statistician who forgot to post his data and is going to be fired.
I’m just shocked that good old Mr Two Jobs even knew where his spine was located.

Suggest might have more to do with his microscopic majority than anything else. Especially with Holyrood elections looming and polling not looking so hot for the Northern branch.

Now he’s resigned he can really focus on what is his most important role as an MP, his football refereeing.

Looks like the entire Scottish Tories are wanting Cummings to go. Interesting to see how that one plays out. Like you say, there's obviously a larger agenda at play here, but still, every little helps.

Even bloody Farage thinks Cummings should go.

So a vicar asked Hancock at the briefing if all fines given out by police for travelling for childcare will now be cancelled and refunds given. He said they will look in to that and virtually said yes but it's up to others including the Chancellor and Home Secretary.

It's just laughable. The Government won;t answer any follow-up questions from journalists, the polls show a decline in support. They are now even considering changing the rules just to keep Cummings in his job.

Done with this Government now, I won't be downloading their shitty app either. Civic duty my arse.

Had to laugh at Hancock closing by saying we're still all in this together and need to carry on observing the rules despite the numbers falling now. LOL. Cue millions of people wanting to throw missiles at their TV.

So we all stayed in all that time and those that were reckless with the health of everyone else are going to be refunded even though they broke the rules? Just because they won’t penalise one of their own? This is rock bottom.

Yep exactly, all in to together.. unless you work at 10 Downing Street.

It's just gaffe after gaffe now. Retrospectively changing the law, I mean according to some people and the Government he didn't break the rules.. so why the need to change the law? Morons.

The Farage who filmed himself in various parts of the country? That Farage?

And the cost of administering that? A cost that will, of course, be paid for by us just so that Cummings can pretend he didn't break the rules. There was a time when we could look at other countries and describe them as corrupt. Not any more.

The refund of fines is not likely to happen according to the BBC.

Either they would have to cancel all fines related or none because its not likely the police will have recorded that the person was travelling for childcare

It’s likely no one else was travelling for childcare. Most people were following the rules and most of the people caught breaking them and getting fined just fancied a trip somewhere nice. Cummings is the only one shouting childcare which he apparently didn’t even utilise.

We have now overtaken Italy on the deaths/capita metric.

546 deaths / million - no other country in the world with a population >60 million has a higher death rate.

New cases and death rate have been falling at a pleasing rate for a good while now, lovely to see and it’s brought the spirits of everyone I know up considerably.

FAMILIES and friends may soon be having barbecues together under plans allowing different households to meet for the first time in months.

Ministers looking to ease the coronavirus lockdown restrictions are hoping to approve small outdoors gatherings at home from next month. It will be capped at two households at a time — but will mean youngsters can see grandparents again.

Ministers want to let different households meet up at their homes again for the first time since lockdown in March.

However any gatherings must be outside where coronavirus is far less likely to spread.

They will be limited to a maximum of two households only under the plans currently being discussed by ministers.

Families will also have to pick which other household to buddy up with under the proposals.

You will not be allowed to meet a household one weekend, then choose another the next.

It means youngsters could see one set of grandparents for the first time in months — though the other will have to wait.

Downing Street is expected to announce the latest lockdown loosening later this week.

But the changes are not expected to kick in until next month.

No.10 will also only push ahead with the move if they are sure it is safe and will not lead to a fresh spike in coronavirus infections and hospital admissions.

Health Secretary Matt Hancock said ministers are looking at how they can let households mix again after months of lockdown.

He told the No.10 press conference: “There is a yearning to see others from another household, and we are looking at how to make this happen in a safe way.”

Can't see how this can possibly be policed. Talk of you having to register the names of the second family on a database. Won't work. It'll just be a free for all really with people doing as they like, much as a lot are doing now in fact and some still being ultra careful so not mixing.

The government are still lying about testing being readily available in care homes by the way, they are literally having to fight to access them according to the manager of my grandmother's home. My grandmother often has chest infections and at 86 is in the ‘highly vulnerable’ category so after developing some symptoms she eventually had a test but the results took TWO WEEKS to come back, fortunately negative. A complete joke frankly.
