Really quite concerning as I’m back in an office two to three days a week (open plan offices are so not a German thing so social distancing at work is actually really easy)

Silas will be probably be better to answer, but my understanding is yes they do. Originally the government wanted to use a centralised model, similar to the ones the UK seem to be trying to implement, but they abandoned that and went for a decentralised model. I think South Korea have a centralised model in place.

My understanding is that Germany has a really very good Test/Trace/Isolate Regime on the go and it’s been in place long before corona. This is a country well prepared for a pandemic. There is no German app as of yet, nothing we’re being told to download. They were looking at a specific app, like in the UK but Germany is absolutely paranoid when it comes to personal privacy and it got axed on data privacy grounds. Likely to be the Apple/Android colab that Germany will be taking advantage of.

To be honest that has been going on for a few weeks, I've seen husbands with their partners running together, old couples walking together, son and father running together, so its no different. And some young people just seating on the grass in the park.

I get what Boris is trying to do, but the speech was a load of shite and was proper fat on the fence material. They're trying to salvage some parts of the economy, which I fully agree with, but I just wish they had said construction and manufacturing rather than being a bit vague with the announcement.

He could have emphasised more that these were guidelines for England only. There were differences. Now in England, you can hop in your car to exercise wherever you want. So loads of idiots will come to Wales for it now.

This government has still not grasped the most basic rule of communication - Keep the message clear and simple.

Also we have a Chinese take away shop that is going to open on Tuesday this week. Another queue forming outside.

 

We already have queues outside for the Co-op Supermarket, Bakery, Chemist, Newsagents, Butcher, Fish & Chips shop, and now the Chinese take away, you are literally going to walk into a person outside in a small shopping precinct. And there are other shops, 2 cafes, 2 hairdressers, solicitor, lol

Wish I could move somewhere sensible, like Scotland or Wales. Why do we have to be so crap? Started lockdown too late, trying to lift it too early. Madness.

The only real thing there was the government telling the working class to get back to work — the rest was purposefully vague nonsense.

I do also hope that if more detailed plans are to be set out that this includes family and friends. I know it’s more open to abuse but other countries have set out plans to allow more than one household to meet outside or in households as long as they keep to social distancing. Again, I appreciate its the most open to abuse but you can’t restrain human contact in that way for months on end. Any plans about easing restrictions needs to include it for it to occur at some later stage.
